IndyColtFan: I, too, have heard of this tactic, but like you, I can forget the name that quickly as the conversation goes on.

ImBack: Thanks; I had first reference to Sen. Tim Cullen in my summary graph but not in the main body of the blog; I've fixed that now.

ImBack: Must every topic be about the latest political slugfest? If so, then you're reading the wrong blog. Check out my blogging history; I've written on plenty of lighter topics; I'm free to explore most any topic I want in this space. Do you never have dessert after your meat and potatoes?

Mouse: No, I don't believe President Obama always gets proper respect either. Columnist Esther Cepeda just wrote about this in a piece she sent us yesterday, and we discussed the similarities by email. That column will be on tomorrow's Gazette Opinion page and is already posted on our website.

janesvillecomments: I can identify with your comments about being a realist. That's the way I try to approach watching Badger football/men's basketball games. If I consider the odds of the Badgers losing, the letdown isn't so hard to take when they do fall.

Thanks for sharing, dillon. I hope our justice system gives you justice.
Sigma40: Being required to pick up the poop when your dog goes in someone else's yard is "ridiculous"? Really? My dog goes in my yard, and I try to keep it cleaned up. I would never think of not picking it up when she goes on someone else's terrace on walks. Sometimes other dogs go in my yard, and the owners don't clean it up. That gives every responsible pet owner a bad name. Don't let me catch you leaving your dog poop in my yard, or the words exchanged will be much louder than those I used with the owner of the pit bull in this story.

Sigma40: As someone who attends services regularly, I find your comments about why someone would go to church offensive. Wouldn't "faith" be the main reason for attending church services?
