It doesn't have to be a police officer, anyone can go to their local police department and fill out the proper form to have someone re-tested. There is a section where you fill out the reason(s) that you want the person tested again. I think that this responsibility lays with the family of the elderly woman. Often times if the police have to fill out this form, something bad already happened.

Hank, I do agree with you that there are many American's that need help. Although, if you read the entire story, these two gentlemen have been going to Haiti since the '90s. Why wouldn't they go now when they are needed the most?

Talking monkey thinks that because they read a psychology book that they know this person. The facts are that he is an adult who stabbed another human being because he wanted to know what it would feel like. Now he knows and now he can suffer the consequence. Personally, I'm with everyone else and let this animal rot in hell.

There is a reason why law enforcement officers have these weapons of choice to use against suspects. Why would anyone second guess what they did in this situation. I only wish we could of seen that piece of trash being tasered.

I don't know about all of the 4 board members and about their agenda, but once Kaufenberg got on the board it was all over for DeVoy. Let's start from the beginning. Not sure on the year, maybe 2005, Kaufenberg's son applies and interviews for a job with Chief DeVoy and the ex-Sergeant Dave Smith. Obviously neither were impressed, so Kaufenberg was not hired. This then resulted in the Kaufenberg's hating DeVoy and the police department. Shortly thereafter, the Kaufenberg's have a handful of negative encounters with the police department. If you don't believe me look it up. Years later after DeVoy is put on suspension, Cheryl Kaufenberg runs for the village board by campaigning door to door with lies about DeVoy and that she will take care of this issue. Once she is voted in, it was all over for DeVoy.
Doesn't seem right, does it? Why doesn't the gazette investigate that? Might make an interesting story.
Good luck to DeVoy and his family.

It does matter because what makes John Evans so "special" to be the only one to have his address listed in any of the articles in the past year? I understand that this doesn't have anything to do with what is going on, but I find this odd.

Really? The gazette needs to put his home address in the article. What purpose does that serve? If that's the case, why doesn't the gazette put the home address's to all Darien board members?

I took the day off of work so I had time to read all the comments (ha ha). Anyways, someone made a comment that current officers have turned in their resignations. Is there any truth to this? Why?

First, how does everyone here that is attacking the police department not know that they took every precautionary step? With that being said, I agree that it doesn't sound good for Green Bay PD to have shot a smaller dog 4 times to prevent it from entering traffic on a busy bridge.
None of us were there so it is not fair to the "entire" GB PD to be categorized as dog murderers. Either a shift commander or officer in charge would be responsible for this decision and he/she will have to justify why they did this. It seems that many who blog about police incidents have their minds made up that the police are always in the wrong.
Blame does go onto the owner of the dog as well. I understand that he contacted the police earlier and reported his dog missing, but Green Bay has a population of about 100,000 people. I can't imagine a missing dog was high on their to do list. I do get a kick out of the bloggers who point out that the cops shot an "unarmed dog". That is funny.
