I don't care what party you happen to be affiliated with, education is one thing that should never be cut.

Congrats on a well run spiel. What I have learned from doing this in the past is, yes, you are the chairperson for the event, and most of the responsibility falls on your, and the Tall Man's, shoulders, but it takes the whole club to put on an event like this. The main job of the chair is to organize and delegate. Most of the people who come to help have done this before and know what it takes to put on an event like this.
Now that you have done something like this, and have seen it through for the past 3 years, you really do come to appreciate all of the work that past committees have done to make the job of chair easier. I applaud you for sticking with this, and just think, now you have at least 50 new people that you can call friends.
And don't worry, I won't hold it against you for being grumpy with me on Sunday afternoon.

According to the early morning crew on WCLO, the game will be broadcast there. And the Super Bowl. Some negotiating was done to acquire the rights to broadcast the games.

I think this is great for this time of the year. It takes peoples' minds off of the everyday things that we all have to deal with. It even makes it better that it is Packers/Bears. Would we get this kind of hype if it were say Packers/Rams or Bears/Panthers?
It is kind of like when the lottery jackpot is large, people still live their everyday lives but have something to take their minds off of other things for a few days.

When was the last time you were in Milton? Don't label the whole city because you know some people that don't partake in the holiday. We went through 5 or 6 large bags of candy in less than two hours. Had to shut off the lights early because we ran out of candy.

I think that the Pack was jinxed by John Barry. He actually picked them to win this week.

So, let me get this straight. If you use the weed killer on your lawn to make it green, you aren't actually "being" green. If you let the dandelions go though, you aren't being neighborly by letting the seeds spread. I guess then you could be called a lot of things. Are dandelions native to America? Or were they brought by the Europeans? I suppose they are a by-product of keeping lawns mowed and the grass shorter allowing these weeds to flourish. I don't recall seeing them in grass fields that are in a more natural state.
