On Conflict simmers among officials over job

Posted on May 28 at 9:31 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

If Mrs. Rashkin wanted to actively seek employment with the school District of Janesville she should not have run for the office. As far as I am concerned she has a term to fill and should set an example and fulfill that obligation the the voters and to the school district.

Paid compensation should be off limits for anyone who has been elected to serve as a commisioner. If this posistion is approved I hope that Mrs. Rashkin does not apply and finishers her term before resigning.

On Wausau mother given probation in baby’s death arrested again

I suppose that the DA should also share in the blame to an extent, but the judge has the descretion to change a plea bargain at sentencing and too many lack whatever it takes to apply the law in a fair and consistent way.

The point was made earlier here that there are plenty of advocates for the unborn and rightfully so) but nobody advocates for small children who are assaulted or even murdered by their parents. That is a very good point.

This lady should have done some significant time for the death of her first one and should not have had custody of the other two.

We can agree that the system is messed up but what's even worse is that nobody seems to get upset over the leniency granted to these unfit and dangerous parents

This lady should have done time for involuntary manslauter at the least. I blame the bleeding heart judge here. I am astounded that someone can walk for murder simply because they are the mother. That is just plain warped, and it happens all the time.

On Workers say union no longer effective

Posted on May 18 at 9:12 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

How pathetic that an organization that simply collects money that it did not earn resorts to these tactics just to keep that unearned money coming in- union self-preservation.

There was a time when unions served a purpoose other than sucking wages from workers but over the years the federal govenment has created laws to help make unions obsolete. Unions are helping to bring down our economy and have ruined our public education system.

Come on union, are you afraid to let them vote? My guess is that they are holding out until after the election so that if Hilary or Barak are elected secret ballots will no longer allowed. That would be their only hope of remaining at the trough.

On Milton mom was charged with child abuse

I've known one of these people for a very long time and substance abuse is not a new situation. I don't think that feeling sorry for them and defending them is right and saying that they should die is wrong also. I do hope that it's a very long time before they are able to see their child.

Kleej, just exactly what is it that you are trying to rally the troops to do? What exactly are you "all in" to do? Please elaborate for us.

On One board member opposes teacher contract

And I'll bet that the administration didn't invoice the teachers or thier union in those years where the health plan ran at a deficit and the general had to be tapped to make up the loss.

With that in mind, this overfunding argument just does not pass the honesty test. Shame shame union activists!

I here that once Prochaska gets out of prison he's going to be his sisters campaign manager. Just think of the triumverate of McCoy, Briarmoon, and Prochaska! We won't need a city manager with those three in charge.

Steve and his staff have done a fine job and I commend them. I hope that they do in fact understand that this bunch of kooks is not reflective of nearly all of the city.

I must admit that there are times when i just laugh at the shear luunacy of this bunch. I don't think that someone could write a script like this. I find it harder yet to believe that Briarmoon and Co. believe their own schtick

On Janesville teachers ratify contract

Posted on April 3 at 3:36 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

When people say that Janesville doesn't hold teachers in high enough esteem they are missing the mark. It's the union that people have the probelm with.

These people conduct themselves like union activists and yet they want be viewed with the respect due an educator while conducting themselves like either spoiled brats or wannabe union thugs.

I think of the WEAC definition of great schools that translates into more money for union members. Great schools should mean so much more than union support or more money, but not according to the propaganda that we get thrown at us.

There are plenty of great teachers in Janesville. They didn't resort to turning to the students for support, those great teachers showed up and taught with their heads held high knowing that many of the taxpayers who pay their wages are getting less than they would like too. They weren't grousing and complaining about not being paid enough re$pect.

I would rather have a teacher instead of simply a union member teaching my kids anyday.

I guess maybe people should be sending resume's to Kenosha then.

Hopefully, if there are any teachers who whined to their students about their contract situation, those would be the first to go; or possibly those who picketed in front of school in the mornings would be the first in line for those plush Kenosha jobs.
