I think there is a false sense of security in Janesville, especially when a huge drug bust and 4 kids are removed from a drug house in 4th ward by the bowling alley goes unreported by the Gazette!

thekai: I did not sign any petitions. I do support Walker. I did not encourage my daughter to sign, was not even with her. It's amazing how much you read into a simple statment that these people collecting signatures are not always checking IDs.

I went to 3 different people at 3 different places in Janesville. NOT ONE asked me for ID. My daughter was up in Madison with my sister and mom. She's 17. They asked her to sign without asking for ID. What a waste of time and money for the state of Wisconsin. Thank you to all of you teachers and union workers that put on your big kids pants and sucked it up and behaved like adults until next election.

poorrichard: Agreed. My aunt is a teacher in Madison. Although things didn't go the way she wanted them to go, she is ashamed of all her co-workers who are only thinking of the recall and their wages and not what really matters.

Our sidewalk install area has a large phone box on one end and another box on the other right in the way. Who pays to have all those lines moved? The telephone company or us? What about the mailboxes for the 4 houses in the area too? Any ideas?

Could someone please clarify what they mean by commercial usage fee increase? Is that only for businesses that bring garbage in or does that also include residents that are doing remodeling for example and bringing in more than what they normally would (like over 2 extra cans at a time)?

Is the city getting some kind of kick-back for the sidewalks? Who is the contractor putting these sidewalks in? Is someone getting some sort of a rebate?

I agree vatoloco! Now, why can't Janesville follow in the footsteps of Evansville and the other districts, put their "big girl panties" on and make some hard decisions like the rest of the state/nation has to?
