Kay13-I don't have the attitude that "I suffer-so should they." I don't think I'm suffering at all. My family and I do quite well on our own, without a union.

GoGreen I do not get to collective bargain at my work so why should they? I get my 2-5% increase each year based on my performance and that's it. My benefits have increased while coverages decreased, my 401K match taken away but my company is turning profits and I'm employed. It's really not that big of deal. These unions should learn to deal with it too. Do these union members understand is how rich their leaders are getting sitting in their offices. These teachers aren't getting paid for their time off but you better believe their leaders will be. Have they ever asked what the salary of a union leader is? I bet it's more than what the members make. Look how well the union did for the GM workers. Unions can't protect you forever. Stop letting them deceive everyone.

Why are people putting their children in danger? They keep saying it could get violent. What are you teaching your kids when the get trampled by angry protesters and hurt? Use your head and leave your young kids at home.

The teachers need to get back to work and leave their personal agenda at home. Do it on your own time, not the taxpayers. My employer, who has done quite well through this recession, eliminated alot of benefits the past couple of years. While it was upsetting, it had to be done to ensure I still have a job today. I'll go without my 401K match and extra bonuses, and I'll pay more for my health insurance if it means I'll have a job come Christmas. I truly believe it's not to much to ask teachers and public workers to help contribute to their benefits. The rest of us have to.

All issues set aside, wouldn't it be a conflict for the Judge to be the prosecuting attorney's father?

Yes that article refers to Bogdonas' lovely conduct. If you search Abegglen though, you can also see the articles as to why he decided to retire rather than defend his position. To me he knew he was guilty and had no choice but to leave on his terms rather than have his misconduct in his permanent employee file.

I believe there are more than six officers that work there and I really don't believe they all feel this way. The same names come up in the articles all the time. I'm pretty sure the gazette published why Officer Abegglen no longer works for the police department when that whole mess went down too. Does anyone remember? I believe it had to do with his misconduct as a police officer and civilian complaints. (read below) So frankly I don't think his complaint is credible either. He's retaliating for his own stupidity as well. I wonder how often the Abegglens and Dransfields meet to discuss their cases together.

On Janesville schools face a very different future

Why don't they raise the cost of enrollment? People send their kids to private schools for thousands per year. I think the public schools should be able to charge more than $30/year, or whatever the current enrollment fee is. Just a thought...
