kcole, that's from the Declaration of Independence, not the Constitution. And the Founding Fathers cannily catered to believers so that they, the believers, wouldn't get nuts and violent. Politicians today still cater to believers just so that believers don't go goofy.
Our laws and rights are based in the godless Constitution.

What's the point of going to an assembly where the speaker is always directly saying, or at a minimum implying, that you are doing something wrong?
And how does someone ever come to the conclusion that the speaker is any closer to the lord than any member of the audience is?

Yes, even if the entire population of America eventually became Hispanic, the language will be English, probably with some traces of Spanish. Peaceful population influx sooner or later takes on the characteristics of the population in-place at the time of the first wave of the influx.

pberg, you are understating the plight of victims of racism by comparing tattoos and skin piercings with skin color.

And, kcole, if anything is antithetical to the First Amendment, it's the "Creator."
Read your bible.

pberg, you certainly are wired that way. Your comments are only an attempt to present yourself in a contrary manner because you are either making an effort to transcend how you are wired -as am I, and as we all should- or you are rationalizing an odd remedy for certain ideas about your self-image. Or, a little of each.
By the way, you will make certain allowances for an attractive woman that you wouldn't make for an unattractive woman.

Here are the explanations. I didn't invent them; I only know what they are:
----------
The larger issue that eludes Khoury's grasp is that in the male mentality, naturally attractive women always trump "class." It takes a whole lot of "classlessness" (a whole lot) for a naturally attractive woman to lose appeal-points to a naturally unattractive woman with "class." This is an immutable fact of life. It is a law of the universe. It is etched in the stone of every man's ability to think about women.
As for tattoos and piercings: The reaction of people who don't like tattoos and piercings is a visceral fact of the human condition that tattooed and pierced people will have to accept -they will never win. That visceral reaction is a force of nature, an instinct greater than any "righteous" claim to self-expression. The friction goes back to the human epoch of tribalhood. Tattoos and body piercings were warnings to outsiders that you are looking at the enemy.

ms...sassy, I'm still waiting on that check.
But, seriously, who needs to be criticized by a guy who has to be a preacher to earn a living? If you really want to be told what's wrong with you, you'll get plenty of that if you get married again.
And, if there is a god of any worth, I'm convinced that whether I believe him or not, he'll believe in me more than he will believe in some of the people who claim to believe in him. He'll respect me for not believing in him based on the bible and what some otherwise unemployable preacher says.
But, thanks anyway for the kind thoughts.
