On What do you think of JPAC?

It seems like some of you are making judgements based on the price of one show - the big Tony Bennett fundraiser the first weekend. The fact is, many of the shows are in the $10-15 range (including the one today, which is $10) but the very first show the night before Tony Bennett was only $5 and totally sold out. So you folks really need to get your facts straight before blurting out that it's only for people with money.

I am amazed that people still can't tell the difference between humor/opinion columns and news articles. Of course, watching Fox News does pretty much blur the line....

MiltonRedmen - It appears to be a timing thing, based on the most recent responses. Just about every time I refresh the screen, the list changes. If it were based on the total number of responses, neither article would be on the list.

Biggirl - Having a referendum every time any kind of spending issue comes up would really defeat the purpose of electing city council representatives. We elect those people to make decisions for us and if we don't like what they do, we vote them out of office. That's our referendum. If we had a public ballot every time any spending decision needed to be made, the wheels of the bus would move VERY slowly; not to mention the additional cost of holding more elections.
Plus, $350,000 may sound like a lot but it's a very small percentage of the total city budget.

On One dead in Rock Township crash

Scott Angus, if you're out there, please consider disabling the comments section for any story involving a death. Inevitably, commenters say cruel and hurtful things about the deceased, particularly if drunken driving is involved or as in this case, merely speculated but not proven. I say this not to defend drunken driving, but out of respect for family members who are grieving and then have their pain multiplied by having to read all of this garbage. I'm sure they didn't want their relative to drive drunk and die. Do they need to suffer more?

local045, thank you for being the first person to blog an intelligent comment on this story.
It's bad enough everyone has already tried and sentenced Jamie, but to drag his wife into this with false and malicious statements is the height of cruelty.
