I've been wondering where to send donations. I have bins of clothes that my husband no longer wears that I would rather go to a local shelter than to Goodwill. Thanks for the info :)

This is why we send our daughter to private school. It has a lot of benefits. And its not as expensive as some people think.

Why don't they close the brand new one they just opened? Kennedy? Most of those kids over there have someone to transport them to different schools. Alot of kids from Wilson don't have that. My daughter goes to school in that area and there are a lot of people walking their kids to school EVERY morning. Rain/snow/cold/hot...doesn't matter. If they had to go to Madison, Jackson, Van Buren...it's just too far. I think Lincoln or Van Buren is a good idea. They are only 8 blocks apart. Although I don't know what the class sizes are over there.

I don't think they should close any of them. I think like Wasp said they need to look at EVERTYTHING and see where they can cut more cost. I love Riverside pool. It's peaceful down there. The kids are more respectful than at Palmer, partly because their parents are right there. I hope Riverside does not close. Or maybe the Friends of Riverside could figure something out to keeping to open.

I remember skating when I was a kid but then you couldn't skate on the lagoon anymore and no one 'made' the other ice. Last year I took my then three year old down there and she loved it. Everytime we pass Traxler she asks when the ice is coming back. I'm excited it might actually be here sooner than normal. Thanks Jeff & Sally & all the rest of the Friends of Traxler!

mjbike2~That is actually a great idea. If they weren't being gased. I don't think you would want to eat them then. But if they killed them in a different manner then they could take them to homeless shelters. Goose is awesome if it's prepared right.

Well we do have a couple taxi services but I don't think I would ride with them. Besides the fact that half the time they have no gas to get to where you are.....some taxi service!
