Serious question for those citing scripture: I can see how you might interpret it to rule out gay male relationships, but where does it ban lesbian relationships?

Walter - 29 of 30 Democrats voted for it, while only 4 of 32 Republicans voted for it.

The bill also included a 'property tax cap' which was championed by a Democratic governor. So, let's also remember that the Democrats overwhelming voted for tax relief while the Republicans overwhelmingly opposed it.

Spin works both ways.

"I'd rather lose the election than get elected and be silent," he (Liebert) said.

I don't know if Mr. Liebert will win, and I don't live in Janesville so I won't be voting in this election, but I like the sentiment of his quote.

zdog - that is one of the most ignorant posts I've ever read. I was forced to say this because somebody else actually thought your post was good, which it is not.

On Walker revamping tax cut for small businesses

Posted on December 29 at 8:29 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

Politicians talk about 'small business' because it brings to mind 'main street.' But, the fact of the matter is that it's not that easy to define 'small business,' and many politicians use businesses no reasonable person would consider 'small' when citing statistics about their productivity and tax rates. Republicans do it more than Democrats.

On Hands-free is fine with me

I've often wondered about the difference between talking on a phone or talking to passengers. One difference is that when the people you are talking to are in the car with you, then they can also see and react to changes in the traffic situation or driving conditions. They can stop the conversation, if necessary, without being told to like the person on the other end of the phone would have to be. It might only take a second, but that might be all it takes. The difference between eating, makeup, etc., and the phone is that the food or makeup isn't talking to you, which is an added distraction (I'm not endorsing eating or applying makeup in the car). Still, I don't understand why you wouldn't just pull over, or not answer and call back in 15 minutes.

On Routine

I read today that the average time out of work has reached 35 weeks. It may be January by the time you get back to work. Good luck, Steve. For Janesville's sake I hope you find a job in town. If you do end up having to leave, and as a former Janesville resident, I think a blog by a former resident who cares about the place might be interesting.

Cool. It's nice to see a story about research going on at UW-W. The Gazette should report more about what the faculty there are working on.
