Sigma..."Just because you are in the US military means nothing..."
dear- you are so very wrong!
Weather you agree with the "fight" or not, being in the US Military is an honor and privilege to those who serve- no matter where they are serving or how they are serving. THEY ARE SERVING!!! That is the point! Bless our troops at home and abroad.

On Fires I recall

Trax was awesome! Went there only once, but will always remember it! Think I was there with my "2 big brothers", and they took me there to try and reduce the stress of my hubby in the Navy being gone over-seas for 6+ months. Still remember it as being a great place for those of us that love "retro"... good memories!

Good ole' McD's Always trained us How to "count up", and how to "count back" to the customer....
waaayyyy back in the 80's! Also how to keep all bills face up, same direction. Count the change to yourself as you pull it from the drawer, then you count it to the customer. 2 check points to make sure you are correct. At the end of the day, all bills facing the same way = a bill in the wrong slot is noticed immediately.
I have trained many cashiers with this over the years (not at McD's), and it has always resulted in great tills at closing. Plus- I love the response we get when change is counted back to our customer! It is always appreciated by the 40+ crowd- Always!

On Are we failing to teach common courtesy?

It does all start at home.
Children learn what they live.
It isn't up to teachers to teach manners.
Please, Thank you, and yes sir/mam are always good things.
Can't go wrong using these, unless they are used with sarcasm
(which is seen a mile away by all!)
If used with sincerity; they are almost always well received.

Not just another boring assembly..... according to MHS Senior/s...
must be a Great program to get so many young adults "chatting/posting" about it... thumbs up!
Have heard nothing but good things about this assembly, from "all walks of life".
Thanks MHS for making this happen.

On Roofers eye up hail-damaged homes in Janesville

Cheap is just that.... CHEAP.
Hire a reliable, licensed contractor. Big box store will sell you anything...... no matter what.
Check with friends, family, and your local "lumberyard", not the "big box" stuff.
Your local yard cannot "endorse" anyone, but they can give you suggestions that will be valuable.
All in all...... after many years in building supplies, don't go cheap!! Quality & Reliability are what matters.

On Won’t you help a child with school supplies?

Posted on August 19 at 7:31 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

"Under privileged" = fine; but under privileged children attending "private school"... don't think so!
If I can "dole out" 140 bucks for a FREE public education (with a yearbook)...
those attending "private" schools should sure be able to get school supplies without my help.
If not... maybe they should not be in a private school.
Same for the "alternative schools". If you can't do school, don't.
Sorry if I have offended, but... time to take a step backwards.
If you want it bad enough, it's yours.
If it doesn't matter...... it's also yours!

On Do you camp? Where?

Posted on July 5 at 6:47 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Gimme a tent, a fire pit, a lake, and NO Trailers with decks and porches and storage barns, etc etc etc...
Rustic camping is preferred, but very hard to find! I don't wanna be "plunked" in the middle of "mobile home-ville".
Where have all the "rustic" sites gone??
