On New hospital to carry St. Mary's name
Posted on October 1 at 5:18 p.m. ( Suggest removal )
I am so glad they are still going to break ground here. I am so happy for the residents in this community that will now have a right to choose where to get their medical care, especially there emergency medical care. Until now, if you were to call 911 from Janesville, you would be automatically taken to Mercy Janesville. They had the monopoly. Now, you will be able to choose where go you. You can stay away from the dangers of Mercy hospital and be taken to a place where hopefully, you will be safer. I am in hopes that the new hospital will not treat their employees and patients as Mercy does. I hope that they will not make dangerous decisions with staffing issues, such as Mercy did the day they diverted patients from the ER because they had NO DOCTOR on staff due to contract/scheduling issues. St. Mary's will no doubt be above this kind of irresponsibility.
On Janesville man dies in skydiving accident

I FOUND THIS POST ON A BLOG REGARDING MR. DOHERTY:http://www.bootsandsabers.com/index.php/weblog/permalink/wisconsin_skydiver_dies_after_chute_fails_to_deploy/
"This should help clarify some of the comments here.
According to the person he was jumping with, while attempting to do relative work (holding hands while in freefall), he waved off early shaking his head making a motion that he did not want to continue. Furthermore his eyes appeared to be rolling around and then he went from his normal freefall position to limp and just falling.
This would indicate to me that he passed out in freefall from either a heart attack or a stroke.
Having the option to install an automatic opening device is the decision of all experienced skydivers. I personally have one but respect the wished of those that do not.
Student and tandem equipment all comes equipped with this device making it a lot safer if something happens to the tandem master.

On Study: Fire station out of date

The statement regarding the lack of a fire alarm system is within the department. They are saying they don't have an adequate fire/smoke detector/alarm system for the station.

I don't think she was living there. There are several grammar errors in this article. Sounds like whoever wrote this article did it in a hurry and hasn't read it since.

I can't believe Mr. Schultz was careless enough to print step by step instructions. I highly suggest he remove the instructions from this article. He is passing on useless and dangerous knowledge.

On Church support for GM workers urged

At our church, Faith Community in Janesville, our pastor did a series of sermons titled, "Life after GM." It was a great series and he felt it very important to address the current and upcoming changes involved with GM. He was very aware of how many people in our area are or will be affected by GM's changes and this is not just limited to GM workers.
Please visit the following website for audio downloads of the 8 part series.

There is always one of you losers that ruins a positive article with your "opinons." For once, just shut up and let an article be positive.

On Expect delays at Highway 26 and County N
Posted on October 30 at 9:12 p.m. ( Suggest removal )
I have responded to many accidents and treated many severe injuries there. Every single accident I have gone to there has been caused by a car that was coming from hwy N. Usually they pull out in front of a semi-truck and they definately don't have enough time to stop. My first accident there was someone who pulled in front of a truck hauling beets...yes BEETS. It scared the crap out of me because the intersection looked as though it was covered in blood...but it was just the smushed beets.
The reason for all the accidents is all the jack a** drivers who blow the stop sign at Hwy N. They either ignore the stop sign or misjudge how much time they have before cars driving on hwy 26 reach the intersection. They need to realize that people are driving anywhere from 45-65mph through the intersection and need to give themselves enough time to cross intersection. People driving hwy 26 don't have enough time to stop when the dumb a** from hwy n pulls out in front of them. People on N treat the intersection as if it were an in town stop sign. It's not...it is in the middle of a highway. The actual speed limit in the intersection is 45mph. It is 55mph just yards before it.
