Well miss Kathleen "know it all", let's see what happens in 2012 when the democrats and the rinos who have now, at least twice, voted against a constitutional balanced buget amendment come up for re-election. What will the electorate remember? Tea party legislators that stood strong by pushing a cut, cap and balanced budget bill, or the business as usual Washington ruling class? So far, the Cut, Cap and Balanced Budget bill has been the only, on the table, proposal that keeps the credit rating folks at bay. All the rest will result in a downgrade. Voters, remember who sold you out!

bella: In form, you appear to be taking a page right out of the left wing, progressive, loon, playbook. When your position becomes untenable and difficult to defend you attack your opponent with name calling and belittling. Just like the leftist are doing to the Tea Party movement. Did you read the references I posted in an earlier post? Apparently not! You told proartist that you read, but do you really comprehend? If you did, you would have understood in my last post that the reference to tyrants in Europe was historical and not current. However, it may just be a matter of time before history repeats itself. People like you are sheep that are being led into the den by wolves in shepherd clothing, all too eager to be eaten alive be a pack of vicious wolves. You need to wake up to reality, and not the spin and altered reality fed to you by the progressive media and educational institutions. You boast about how post modern you are by taking on the progressive, liberal narrative, which has altered history and reality by feeding you their story of reality and history instead. I am a political realist who will champion postions on the left on the right and in the center. Understand that open carry and second amendment issues are in the center, and not on the right, as the liberal narrative would lead you and others like you to believe. The indivdual right to own and bear firearms IS central to preserving the America Republic. "Those who fail to learn from history, are doomed to repeat it"!

bella: While this discussion is not about George Soros, I will say this: history is often not about what really happened, but often about what someone paid to have someone say what happened or erased . You and proartist have been drinking way too much of the leftist "kool aid." To help in your re-education please see the following. Don't wait too long, these may be erased soon too.

In terms of the gun debate, it is important to know that George Soros is the man behind Rebecca Peters who lead the gun confiscation charge in Australia. Prior to that she worked for Soros' Open Society Institute and currently with the Soros funded, Violence Policy Institute. Soros and his megalomaniac partners know that an unarmed society is much easier to control than one that is armed. This is what our forefathers knew when they created the second amendment. They did not want the new emergent nation to be like Europe, unarmed and under the thumb of tyrants.
The truth shall set you free.

The posting by "proartist" Aug 19, 2010 at 4:11 p.m. contains fallacious, "pseudo-scientific" studies funded by the anti-gun community primarily bankrolled by George Soros. Soros is a European billionaire who is suspected of being a Nazi collaborator. With his billions he is trying to influence our government to cede its sovereignty, over to the United Nations. In the studies that proartist references, data are "cooked" to prove the preconceived notion that guns are evil in and of themselves. I have requested that the above referenced posting be removed due to its reference to "pseudo-scientific" studies, whose fallacious conclusions are used as to purport fact when in fact they are fiction. A gun is a tool, used in the right hands it helps build a nation; protects the innocent from the predator; help provide food for the hungry; and act a deterrent to those of a criminal ilk. Just like any other tool, say a hammer or screwdriver, in the wrong hand, it can be used by a criminal to maim and kill. So should we outlaw hand tools as well? Let’s be rational and honest when we debate the gun issue.
On Obama using grab-bag approach to fight recession

This article, like Obama's plan lacks any details other than to create/save government jobs, and to grow the government larger. Leaving the details up to congress only leads to more pork barrell spending by the Democrats. It time for "real change", meaning get the career politicians out of office. Support the Tea Party as a viable third party in 2010 and 2012.
On WI State Constitution OUTDATED!

Wow! Where is the logic in this piece? First the Secretary of State and State Treasurer should not be politically appointed, but the Attorney General and the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, which currently are elected positions, should become polically appointed ones? Your logic is inconsistent. The Attorney General needs to be an independent office, free from the grip of the Governor. Point in fact: Gov. Doyle's recent budget made it possible for same sex couples to register and to obtain some of the benefits of married couples in direct violation to the State's Constitutional amendment, which clearly does not allow for this. Registration of same sex couples is a back door to manipulating the constitution. The Attny Gen'l has made it clear that he will not recognize this section of law and will fight it in the State's Supreme Court. Now if he was Doyle's politially appoint crony, whould this be possible? I think not! This logic applies to all of the currently elected offices. Lastly, don't tinker with our or any State Constitution. It will easily lead to tinkering with the U.S. Constitution. Any tinkering with either will simply be politically motivated by the party currently in power. We already have a mechanism to make changes to the Constitution, amendments voted on by the people!

Why Think: Hmm, a very interesting moniker, apparently you don't live up to it. Conservatives, whether Republican, Democrat or Independent, hate the America that progressives have made of it. We want adherence to the Constitution, and less government, way more less. Example, the state is closing offices on Fridays to help balance the budget. Having the state offices closed is not causing any problems for the public. If all state and federal government offices would be open only one day a week, it would still would not cause problems for the public. However, it would affect govenment government bureaucrats who derive their power from the number of employees needed to run the offices five days a week. Big government means control of the people. We want the government out of our lives. It needs to do what our founding fathers envisioned: to provide currency and defense against enemies from without.
On Military efforts to control press could make truth a casualty

Unfortunately, most of the American press were indoctinated at left liberal Universities, by professors, many of whom are self admitted Marxists. Hence the coverage of the Iraq war, where, day after day, they would lead with headlines of insurgent bombings killing American troops, but very little of how are troops were reaching out the Iraqi people in many different ways. This type of reporting only served to embarass the Bush Administration, our troops and more importantly, to embolden the insurgents to find more and more ways to kill our troops in order see more and more headlines. In my opinion, this type of reporting bordered on treason by giving support and comfort to the enemy. This must not be allowed to happen again. I believe the press/media needs to monitored to ensure "fair and balanced" reporting. War is ugly and violent, but in the midst of it, there are positive humane things going on. Both require equal reporting.

My heart is cetainly not breaking for the Gazette. Perhaps if you ran a paper that is fair and balanced; or if you allowed your reporters to do REAL reporting, to give us real news rather than relying on the left, liberal wire services to spoon feed us their opinion ladden trash; or if you allowed your readers space to editorialize with more than 250 words; or if you used headlines about real important events in the world, nation and state; I would have kept my subscription. Your "Local Matters", apparently, really doesn't matter at least to me.

Well, if you and your democrat Senate bretheren didn't obscond to Illinois for 2 weeks, maybe you could have settled down your union thugs and helped to restore civility. Your behavior greatly helped to incite the incivility that occured in Madison at that time. You violated and stepped on the Wisconsin Constitution which should have gotten you and the other democrat Senators thrown out office.
