On Janesville foreclosure sales total 20%

Posted on June 11 at 10:01 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

---“The catch-22 for 2011 is that while accelerating foreclosure sales will help clear the oversupply of distressed properties and return balance to the market in the long run, in the short term a high percentage of foreclosure sales will continue to weigh down home prices.”---

Worst comment... ever.

1st: NOT catch 22. Catch 22 means harm either way. This is at worst "pros n cons"

2nd: It is not even pro and con. It is WIN WIN. Dropping housing prices is a GOOD thing. The bubble was the bad thing. Affordability is good. Canceling delusion that buying house makes one rich? better still.

On Searches by dogs yield no drugs at Janesville middle schools

I thought it was the exception rather than the rule when a drug sniffing dog gave a false alert.
So dogs sniff and bark but no way to train them to identify drugs.

On Sen. Johnson traveling to Afghanistan, Pakistan

I say everyone call Senator Johnson and speak our minds about this huge waste of tax dollars. I know I would but I was unable to find his Wi. office phone number. Anyone else come up with anything?

On Delavan utility rates on the rise

How about Delavan take some of that money the new judge is acquiring from all the citations that have been swept under the rug for the last eight years to pay for the new water tower. Nice job there M-M-M-M-Mel.

So I'm wondering why this item hasn't received any mainstream attention.

On Will ice island finally convince global warming skeptics?

Posted on August 12 at 8:16 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Global warming skeptics aren't skeptical that the climate is changing. The climate is _always_ changing.

What we are skeptical about is that the change is a critical disaster (because the historical record shows periods when it has been _much_ warmer than it is now), that the change is due to human activity, especially CO2 emissions (the historical record doesn't support CO2 being a large contributor to global climate change because the historical record shows environmental CO2 increases _lag_ climatic temperature increases), and that both of those being true (which we doubt) means that the economies of the developed nations must be shackled - and that right quick!

A glacier calving does not affect that skepticism.

On Illegal agriculture: Just a blip or tip of the iceberg?

Posted on January 21 at 3:52 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

@duecerider, 25% tax on weed? Are you high? Either that or a democrat. People keep talking about legalizing weed and taxing it. We pay too much tax already. If weed were legal the savings in law enforcement alone would take a big chunk out of this states bloated budget. Immediate tax savings. Plus the saving of not having to incarcerate these poor shmucks for doing nothing more than growing a plant.
