On 9-year-old found after two-hour search

The school where I teach has over 600 students. There are usually about 8 playground supervisors out on the playground. There is one secretary and one aide in the office to call for absent students. HOW is the school to be blamed for NOT calling the minute he went missing? If I've had concerned parents about playground supervision they are welcomed to stick around to help out. I've also heard of a child beginning to walk towards home and when approached by the supervisor he/she took off running! Now if that supervisor ran after the child and tried to stop him/her they would be accused of abuse for grabbing or tackling the kid to keep him/her from running off. It is also made CLEAR to all families that NO CHILD BE DROPPED off befor 7:50 and yet when I've pulled in at 7:30 (in frigid winter weather) I've seen kids being dropped off. My daughter is also 9 years old and she knows better than to leave school. If there was a threat of this child wandering then I'm sure he would be walked up to a supervisor and watched. I know we have a few kids who have 1 person assigned to watch them. BLAME BLAME BLAME. The boy was safe so why debate WHO is at fault?

Hiring aides would be one way to help and if they hired a few 1/2 time ones they could save by not paying their health insurance. In my district 1/2 time aides do not get insurance. I consider myself to have 2 classes of reasonable numbers (17 and 18) but they are very young. I've had a few parents come in and volunteer and this has been great also but it's not always easy to get parents in (they work, have younger children at home...). I agree that it becomes CROWD CONTROL with large classes. I had a class of 24 4 year olds with one aide and even then it was the worst year I've ever taught. They couldn't sit for story without being on top of each other, they were cramped at their tables, the mix of so many personalities caused conflicts and issues every 5 minutes or so...it was bad. We tried to split them up for instruction between my aide and myself but at the young elementary level anything over 20 is way too much. Too bad we can't more college bound or college students in our classrooms to help out at the same time earning credits or hours towards their education. Sigh...

Way off the topic here but if Obama pulls all our troops out now will that make him a better president? How will that affect our homeland? How many more 9-11 attacks will we have to deal with? How many of you want to walk outside to the sound of air raids and bombs in our own country? I feel pulling out now will only put us more at jeopardy for more war. Only the war will be right here.

"awarded to the nominee "who, during the preceding year, shall have conferred the greatest benefit on mankind", and has worked for "fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses."
Could somebody please tell me what he did to deserve to share this honor with the likes of Mother Teresa? I wasn't too impressed when he disrespected that police officer this past summer and then had to hold a "beer summit" to help patch things up between the cop and professor. As I recall he did nothing but fire up people into thinking the cop was a racist.
