Woody...did you attend the Tuesday meeting? If not then you really have not point in this discussion. I think what they are looking for sounds perfect for this city. We need fiscal responsibility but we also can't stifle growth. The qualities listed in this article will suit this city well.

Sigma: Well it appears you've added nothing to the article. Teaching is far more than being able to read from a book. That was just a plain ignorant statement.

thisyear: Really? How can you say that, proof please.
I work in the private sector and I've been getting minimum of 3% since 2008 and last year I received 4.1%
I'm not saying all private sector companies are doing this, I can't because I don't have any proof of it. For the same reason you can't say that "most" private sector employees haven't received any?
1% is not fair considering the importance of their job. They are teaching our future!

"The change affects 35 individuals, including assistant principals and central-office administrators. The increases are expected to cost about $200,000 a year, which Schulte said was 0.016 percent of the district budget."
The fact that this was figured out shows a feeling of guilt or that they know what they did was wrong. BOE, MORONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you kidding. They get up to 6% raises and the more important aspect of our district will possibly be taking cuts. This is absolutely infuriating. YOU ARE IN THE RED, what the heck are you thinking???????

I'm right there with you JoyM...i feel like plucking my eyes out of my head right now. I took a generic Allegra and generic Claritin today...only helps slightly. I miss eating raw apples but I can't deal with the intense itchy eyes and throat after eating one. Just a couple more weeks and they'll be a little better.
