On Janesville bar put on notice

Sigma-- Your response of "you hit it right on... its all politics. Someone sees Quotes as a threat because it does good. So we get the cops to stake the place out and pounce on every little thing, then get the media to burn the place... Typical corporate america." the funny thing is none of the bars downtown are jealous of the business Quotes is doing... like li713
said-- the glass has plenty of other things going on that draw the right type of crowd. None of the other bars want the crowd Quotes has. It is the matter that Carp is more concerned about making hoards of maney than she is about keeping the peace. And just because other downtown establishments are not packed at 1 am does not mean they are not doing good business. As a regular downtown, I would gladly take my business to anywhere but Quotes.

abass80-- Your are completely right!!! Matt has done many great things for looking glass and the sommunity as a whole!

Sigma-- Carp is always wasted...She actually goes to all the other downtown bars everynights and buys rounds of shots for herself! she is a joke!

"The glass used to be shoulder to shoulder, once quotes opened legends, the glass, main street, and taasbags took a big hit from people now going to quotes instead. So now that Matts business is suffering he's going to put the heat on his competitor. Nice. Janesville "good 'ol boy" politics never gets old." You must no read very well... Matt is the comittee chairman and sits on a board with many other bar owners in the downtown area. Matt and the other bar owners have brought us things like downtown beautification projects, the summer block party, etc. And if you read anyone elses post, the reason why Looking glass is not shoulder to shoulder anymore is because they saw the issue and made improvements (the beer garden) to lessen the amount of people crammed inside!

"No doubt some of them were barely conscious when they walked in! Oooo...the bar is now "on notice"! Isn't that scary? How long did people dance on the bar at Looking Glass while that establishment was "on notice" too?" These problems were when the Munsons owned Looking Glass... Matt has doen many things to clean up and change the image of Looking Glass. There has not been dancing allowed on the bar for at least a year now and with the beer garden the number of people crammed inside has brought down the stress level of being to close to people which has significantly reduced the number of issues Looking Glass has. Quotes could make improvements and have the same result but Carp is to worried about drinking herself into a stupper everynight that she does not bother to see what is really going on in her bar!

On Union backers decry Wis. Supreme Court ruling

The unions are not upset about having to pay into HC and pension....What we do not want happening is our union rights going away...I would gladly pay into HC and Pension to keep my union rights! I paid big money for my education and my coutny government job is what makes it possible for me to pay back the loans for said education. My office provides a great service to the citizens of this state. Without us, those out of work would have to wait a lot longer to get help with medical and providing staples for their families.

I don't want it to seem like I am defending these parents because I am not...but think of how many of these kids left on their own because they did not want to adhere to rules set by their parents. I agree that in 90% of the cases, parents and circumstance are to blame but a select few of these teens make this choice on their own.

NoLeftist--your comment is ignorant! Not all couples who have kids while not married are going to allow their kids to be homeless!
