emac, prescription drugs are only legal to the person with that prescription, don't you read the arrests in the public records on here, or the court records? Possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, and a lot of prescription painkillers are a scheduled drug, possession of those is the same as possession of illegal drugs if you don't have a valid prescription from a Dr. it's pretty black and white when it comes to this, the DEA monitors scheduled drug prescription, that's why your Dr has to write you a prescription for opiate painkillers, their DEA license number is on those and pharmacists have to register those on every one of those given out.

tthompson, any drug used that the recipient of said programs that show up on a routine mandatory drug test that the person does NOT have a prescription for, IE that makes them illegal whether or not legal drugs in a persons system that were obtained without a prescription makes them illegal drugs. I am assuming by the way you asked the question you were referring to one of the most commonly abused drugs, prescription painkillers. I'm sticking to my stand here on mandatory drug testing for those on state or federal programs, fail the test, your on your own! And the difference between a person abusing drugs who are not on some sort of aid is that person is using his/her own money, not taxpayers. If you want to work and spend your hard earned money on drugs, that's between you and the authorities, but if you are getting our tax dollars, that is when I consider it my business! I refuse to work to support someones drug habit, get a job if that's what you want to do.

If the state of Wisconsin seriously wants to save money without being called insensitive for cutting assistance to those undeserving in the first place, all that needs to be put in place is mandatory drug testing for those on welfare and unemployment and the rest will take care of itself! $300,000,000.00 saved easily, and no one can call them insensitive this way. If they want to buy drugs let them work for their money, because I don't want my tax dollars being used to get someone high on illegal drugs.

Good things happening to good people, if you all remember Steve (Chase's father) was pictured a few weeks ago working at Time Out with Brian Cherry on Thanksgiving handing out free meals to people less fortunate. What a great story, way to go Chase and congrats on winning such a great reward! Steve will no doubt have a great time with his son at this years Super Bowl, especially since Wisconsin's own will be representing again this year!!! A perfect example of good Kharma.
On Janesville City Council approves ice equipment; waits for bids
Posted on December 15 at 12:30 a.m. ( Suggest removal )
The council Monday unanimously voted to purchase geothermal ice-making equipment costing about $1.04 million. The equipment uses water from the pond at Lions Beach to save money in energy.
The equipment is more expensive than originally estimated, and the cost puts the council’s preferred design about $500,000 over budget.
When the numbers start being this large a referendum should be mandatory! At this time of economic struggle it's so hard to justify spending such a large amount, especially when it's more than double the original amount budgeted, it's time for the council to realize that they can no longer operate this way, someone needs to have their checkbook taken away from them.
“Every time we talk about the ice arena, there’s people in the community who want to keep it going,” Councilman Tom McDonald said.
“I think the majority of the people understand the benefits … I believe we have to take care of what we have in this community.
“We’re taking care of something that has suffered from years of neglect,” he said.
So why should we believe that it would be any different this time around? And if you truly believe that the majority agrees with this then whats that hurt in putting it on a referendum councilman McDonald?
I'd be willing to bet my years salary against yours that it wouldn't pass at this time.
On Janesville School Board votes to increase class size at high schools

justonepost, god if only you could do as your name states.....
In your first comment here you state that "Craig and Parker are high schools and not universities", well thank you for explaining the ever so obvious to everyone, I believe that is why realitybytes stated "If these kids go on to higher education they will likely have Freshmen classes at state universities" yup, higher education, that would be AFTER HIGH SCHOOL! You sure like to blaim this on Governor Walker, even though hundreds of cities are working with the tools given to them and are making it work, saving jobs of colleagues, and saving their cities taxpayers a lot of money, now I understand that liberals like yourself don't like to deal with facts and numbers, and would prefer to just spew hate all the while accusing others of doing just that, anytime someone suggests saving tax dollars by changing our current set up in the schools syatem, you brand them as TEACHER BASHERS, well guess what Charlie Brown, we are just sick of paying so much for others and leaving our own pockets light when it comes to necessities like food, shelter, and clothing, not trips, new cars, summer homes up north, or where ever. It's just common sense when you see cities across the state with teachers that either now under the new set up or made concessions, something our teachers flat out refused to do, and if it was like that all across the state it wouldn't put them in such a negative light, and in so many other cities, cities that aren't that far away, (Middleton is one and there are many more, go ahead and look it up, it's really happening) they are getting it done, so why can't we?? I know your party likes to think you have all the answers, but that's only when you get to choose the questions now isn't it..... If you could take the politics away from this, I feel maybe you could get a grasp on the obvious here, maybe I am putting to much faith in your intellect here.

I graduated back in the 80s and several of my classes had over 30 and maybe even 35 in them, and we got by just fine..... Janesville schools want to be compared to larger city schools when it benefits them $$$ wise but when they are asked to increase class size, well let the whining begin, we were told that the high schools needed field houses to attract families to the area, so now that the taxpayers were bent over, and over and over, it's time to make the most of the money that the schools have to work with. Of course I could be wrong here and now I'll let all of you (not all, by all I am referring to those who anytime someone thinks that the schools in Janesville need to be able to operate within a budget, start the name calling and scream teacher basher!! so go ahead) get to telling me how wrong I am........

It's all Walkers fault! Oh wait,,,, this is good news so the anti-Walker group isn't interested in commenting here. Great news for our area with more jobs being added, and I believe that if the business climate were how it use to be, this never would've happened.
