NO! If the hockey fans want it so damn bad let them pay for it...tag an extra fee on the tickets if its that popular! People are on unemployment, one income, or even less and now we have to help pay for something that really is not necessary at this time. A referendum would have been the way to go here...

Instead of cutting the hole in the top of the pumpkin...cut a hole out of the bottom...then you just have to set them over the candle/light instead of having to deal with reaching down inside with a lit candle...or worrying about the lid shriveling up and falling inside.

On Schools struggle with cell phone policies

Where I work there are no cell phones allowed in the work area because it messes with the scanners we use. The policy there is you get caught with it (in your pocket or wherever)the first time you are written up..the second time you are fired. These kids drive me nuts with these phones attached to them like glue and what scares me the most is that they are driving or will be driving soon. Of course adults are just as bad at that habit too, I guess its monkey see monkey do...

The parking lot is off limits at my son's elementary school here in town...I would guess it probably is at most of the schools...it's not a designated drop off/pick up zone.

So now we're going to add more homework to the list...hope all the parents of these kids are brushing up on their foreign languages because I can bet there will be at least another hour's worth for those classes...but I did like someone's suggestion of sign language :)
