On Police programs

Posted on October 29 at 6:26 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

I think before any young lady graduates high school they need to attend the Women's Self Defense course. I have taken it twice and feel more self asured that I could handle something if it came up. More area departments should get on the band wagon and teach it also. Its an AWSOME program!!!!!

Kudos to the child this happen to. He did what he was supose to do. He said no and continued to and went to a safe area when the person did not stop. Anyone who has talked with a child about something like this happening always hopes they remember and do as they were taught. Bravo to him, his teachers, caregivers, and parents for doing the right thing!!!!!

On Board to review seat belts on buses

One more way that district is wasting tax payers money!!! You are much safer riding a bus withOUT seatbelts then you are in a car. Studies have proven it time after time.

With children sitting in carseats and booster seats in cars (and yes they should be) they never learn how to sit still and behave without one. Parents LACK of displine and not teaching them to RESPECT adults is where the problem lies!!!!!

Those of us who still are Redmen in our hearts and love "Smokin' Joe" do not believe our identity revolves around our high school name. We know and believe in what the name Redmen and Smokin' Joe really stood for!

It stood for the rich Native American history in the area as well as the red warm up suits that the earlier basketball players use to wear. Smokin' Joe stood for the fierce fighting spirit of warriors past who fought for what they believed in and that of our talented sports team members who fought hard during each event whether they won or lost.

It always amazes me that it only takes ONE to beg, plead and cry whoa is me until they get what they want and those who dont believe the same have to bend and give to make them happy.

On Milton's Baptist Roots

Camp Wokanda is still a great place to take a retreat to. But sadly they have let the trails get over grown and they are very hard to get around on. Some are even impassible now. The only way to get the the creek now is down the steep the slope behind the girls lodges. Not very fun or safe. Sure wish a group would get together and fix them up. I know the girl scouts would greatly appreciate it when they do their spring camping weekend out there.

On How now, black and white cow? Champion cow from Rudolph

Posted on October 4 at 10:36 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

janesvillean,
Each of the 6 breeds has a champion and reserve champion from their show. On Saturday all 6 champions are judged to see who will become the champion of the whole show, aka Supreme Champion. Frosty first became champion for the Holstein breed. Then on Sat. she went up against all the other champions from the week to become Supreme Champion.

Congrats to the owners!! Its a very special honor to win.
