On Janesville council discusses trash options

This city builds a parking ramp that in the same lot that the old parking ramp was torn down for how much? The bike tunnel cost. Saving the ice arena. Buying crappy houses. And now they want to charge for our garbage pick up...I HATE THIS CITY! The city council members are all morons!

Why can't we use the existing space and remodel it to fit this idea? The last thing Janesville needs is another monster building...has anyone been over by Seneca or Lear? It is a ghost town in some of those areas. Why can't you put 5 - 2,500 square foot start ups under one 15,000 square foot roof? Then you could build common areas, such as office, conference, and break room space...Oh wait, I know why! JP Cullen hasn't had any big city projects in a while to stay rich and fat!

justsayno,
uh...how about the person that murdered her? It could have been someone she met at a public place, someone out of state, someone the public didn't know or recognize. The state took the easy way out and blamed the estranged husband...

Just another example of Wisconsin kissing the rear of these corporations to placate them for the short term, just to have them run out in the end anyways...I say don't do it, if the employee were so concerned about keeping their jobs, they would have voted the new contract in.

Her stubbornness equals undue danger for emergency workers and undue financial burden upon the city. How are her actions fair to us, the tax payer? Or to a EMT who may be called to save her? The fact that she is a great person or not has no bearing upon what she expects from her city. Even if those expectations are not by her choice, the city government cannot simply say "well she chose to live there, its flooded, ignore the 911 call..."

hankhill,
I bet if you tested your little racist theory, you would be disappointed at its outcome. Short of the occasional glance, you would probably enjoy the same experience that everyone else has when at that bar.

No offense to the Gazette, but it seems like the race issue was perpetuated from the original stories about the police complaints, and the city's problem with their liquor license. See the Gazette has papers to sell, and other than sex, what else does it have? Oh yeah, race issues! At the meetings, race wasn't mentioned. What was mentioned was a mass of ordinance violations, and citizen complaints that city was compelled by those complaints to answer. In fact, by attending those meetings, only one learned about the race in paper, not at the actual complaints or the hearings. Race was brought into the public argument by the proprietor. The Gazette has further fueled the argument by printing, what is public record, the accounts of the tenant and the landlord. A small amount of investigative reporting, and pow, you have more inflammatory information to write a "story" about. Barlass and the Gazette have brought the race issue into the story. Forgetting that mismanagement and ordinance violations have brought this upon themselves, not some Janesville race conspiracy. By attaching race to this issue at all is just mudding the waters of fact and law.

The Gazette has a weird definition of "cheerful and friendly."
When I drove by I saw a picture of the President with a "Hitler style" mustache drawn upon his face and signs saying that he was going to kill my grandma. Neither message portrayed either cheerfulness nor a friendly message. In fact it was comical and funny. It was neat to see this people performing like monkeys for all to see. I don't remember the Gazette covering any of the Anti-war or Anti-Bush protests with praises of "cheerful and friendly." If I am wrong, I would enjoy a link to the article to prove it.
