At this point we are keeping this group to single moms. I understand there is a need for a group like this for single dads as well but I do believe that some of the women in the group are there for support and would be uncomfortable sharing their struggles and concerns if there were men in the group. If there is a single dad out there who is interested in starting a support group for single dads that would be great.

As single moms we are not looking for sympathy just for support, so how we came to be single moms is not important. But if it makes you feel better I was divorced from my childs father and then when my child was young his father passed away. Support does not mean sympathy. It simply means taking a situation we are in, finding others in the same situation and making our lives and our childrens lives better. A person can grow without sympathy but not without support.
