On Janesville youth chases dream to host outdoor TV show

Pay no attention to the last post. Next Generation is a show sponsered by Bass Pro. They go all over the US fully paid by high dollar sponsers. It does not even compare to what you are doing. If this is something you want to do go for it. I think it is great to see a young person following their dream. Even better when they have the support of their family like you do. Just remember Lee and Tiffany's advice and keep filming and filming. Good luck I hope you make it big.

jtlis, you say you go by there often and see brand new cars, those don't belong to the workers. Also look to see how many are actually American made. sannio, the building he is moving into is still a metal building just smaller.

Bieng an autopsy assisitant makes her a little more qualified to start than Ms. Keach was. When she won the election she was a nurse in the ER. By her saying that Holder has less experience and is less qualified for the job sounds like somebody is a little scared about losing.
On GM forcing workers to move to Ohio

I agree with all of the postings that these people are not being forced to transfer. They had the chance to transfer before this to any facility they wanted to, if that plant needed people. I made that choice awhile ago. Leaving family and friends behind was a tough choice, as it will be for these people that choose to go now. But you do what you have to do to keep a roof over your head and food on the table for your family. Good luck to all those having to make that decision now.

Before you go talking about the former GM workers still getting unemployment, you better check your facts. As of right now there are about 300 or so of the 2500 left in the area. The rest have moved on to other locations. Most of which have their homes for sale. If you actually read the article, Richards did not build a home in the city of Janesville, but did build homes in the rural area.
On Manufacturer may not have looked at Janesville GM plant

GM in Janesville is history. That is why they are adding 3rd shifts at the plants that are already producing vehicles. It is in their best interest to utilize the capacity in those plants first. It costs a lot less to add people than to retool a closed plant. Simple economics.
On Parents, board question if Chinese program should be mandatory

If any of you complaining have ever been to China you would find the english language is more widley spoken there than it is here. Although not as clearly, but they are willing to learn and expand their knowledge, something you want to suppress in our children. Also the Chinese Moon Festival is not about religon it is about a fable that has been around for generations, the library has excellent reading on the subject, as well as the other Chinese festivals. Stop being so closed minded.
On Parents, board question if Chinese program should be mandatory

I think having our kids learn Chinese is a worthwile thing. Since most of our major corporations are bringing in Chinese people to learn how we operate before sending our jobs there someone will have to be able to communicate with them. I don't think it should be mandatory though and should be offered at other schools as well.

It's about time that this happens. If you have ever tried to go north from the S. Beloit toll on a Friday night you will understand the need. As to the weigh station nobody can tell me that they pull 24 trucks a day to inspect. It doesn't matter what time you roll past the sign, it always says closed. I have gone past early in the morning as well as late at night and have never seen it open, but as the other post says there are always patrol cars there. Must be good coffee and donuts inside.
