uwwalum - bloody straying humans and bloody straying animals pose COMPLETELY different risks. I do not condone or agree with the actions and/or outcome of this situation, but DUH....you can't compare the two. Dogs/wild Animals can carry Rabies, they can attack in seconds, they can kill a child and severely injure an adult. Even if the dog had ID on, if the dog can't be caught, that wouldn't have mattered. It's an unfortunate, sad event that unfortunately too many uneducated people are chipping in their 2 cents towards.

I am an animal lover - obviously. But where does the Gazette think that a title for a tragic story should be "3 cats die in house fire" instead of "family tragically loses home" or "Family survives tragic fire"???? Way to throw the negative out of essentially a positive outcome. Way to go Janesville FD.

BY THE WAY, a special recognition goes out to the 2 Janesville paramedics who intercepted with Milton's ambulance and pushed the cardiac drugs needed for Don's heart to start functioning appropriately again!!!

In CCR/CPR you are supposed to rotate out people who give compressions, so that someone does not get too tired and the compressions remain strong and adequate. Keuene didn't "become too exhausted to continue," obviously he would've continued as long as necessary. But when there are extra hands on board, we use them. Milton EMS was very proud to have not only helped saved this kind man, but to return the favor for him serving our country!

cubfan48 Obviously you aren't a pet owner and obviuosly you do not know any firefighters. Their job is to risk their lives to save lives...no where does it say in their contracts "don't worry about saving pets." Firefighters have a heart of gold and are brave as hell for doing what they do. Way to go Janesville FD!

Wow, mark_twain...would you rather hear "real" news such as more deaths in Iraq? Or cities damaged by tornadoes and floods? Because none of that is upsetting at all.

I think it's about time that the Gazette disables the comment section on this story.
