staceyu2- you are correct. The pom squad has to maintain a certain average, and like a "regular" sport, they also have the athletic fees, and fund raisers. In the meantine, with Jenni gone, Ms. Moen the varsity coach is coaching both squads. Is she getting paid double??? Doubt it, probably volunteering.

To start with, frusion- No Jenni did not wear her Hooters uniform to practice. To representinbtownyo- the girls who are writing in are upset, so they have a few misspelled words. For those of you who asked about the money and where it went. The girls went to pom camp, which they paid for themselves (parents) and Jenni, who was volunteering, took time off of work, paid her own way, to go along with the girls as their COACH. The new applicant is supposedly a teachers wife who was on poms in school, and coached before. Jenni coached last year and they were fine with it. Now that she has Hooters on her application for this years coach, she isnt hired??? Think about it!!!

Our daughter is on the pom squad and we see no problem with this. Why dont they take a vote from the squad and the parents. She was good enough to make up routines and teach the girls when it was volunteer, but now, "gosh we cant have someone who works at Hooters be employed by the school district". Yeah, maybe they should start digging into some of the other employees and see who else has "not school district material" jobs. STARBUCK1 - she is a GREAT coach, and yes the girls have bonded with her. How do you think a new coach is going to feel when she knows the team does not want her?? Back to Hooters- I picked my kids up from school today and some of the girls had on skimpier clothes then the Hooter girls wear. Dr. Sperry & Dr. Schroder need to see that the team doesnt want a new coach, they DONT NEED A NEW COACH. No complaints against her. My vote--along with the rest of the parents and team-- KEEP JENNI...

On Local road projects to receive federal funds

Posted on March 12 at 10:17 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

question about this bidding process. since this is federal(stimulus) money, does that mean anyone can bid on this project ie. companies from out of state? We want to get the unemployment down in Wisconsin shouldnt we only allow companies from WI to bid? and how do we find out when the bids are and who won the bid. This would be a great opportunity for some local unemployed to apply for a job with the winning company. Keep it Local!!!

On Retired GM worker wins the last Tahoe off the line

Congrats to the winner. But, I was under the impression that they were only selling 9,000 tickets. Janesville Gazette, Tuesday, Dec 9th 2008 "The United Way has printed 9,000 raffle tickets. If they're all sold, the tickets would generate between $150,000 and $180,000." It sure lowered the odds when they printed more.

On Brodhead company announces layoffs

It is getting sickening to see all these companies either close or have massive lay-offs. And all these rumors of what "MIGHT" come to this area. Gm will stay and retool, another car company coming in, a stamping company and how many others. How about some facts. What is a person suppose to do? Do they stay around here, collect unemployment and pray that the rumors have some truth to them that some businesses will comes to town? Do they pack up and move their families to find work? If only there could be some straight answers. Why cant the city give us some light on the subject, and tell us what is going on.
