On Lake Geneva bank robbed

Hey thekai, were you to direct a comment like that at Obama, he'd tell you the hole that needs filling was dug by the previous administration. Even though it might be the case at the State level this time, something tells me you won't hear Governor Walker making that excuse.... he'll leave the whining to the feet-stomping lefties.

On Poll shows Walker on top

Let's see if I can put this in terms youkillme can understand....Governor Walker does what he says he will do. He's not like your friend Obama who makes all sorts of wild promises (e.g. 8% unemployment), fails, and then blames it on someone else. Scott Walker recognized the financial trouble the State was in and took steps to get it corrected. He told us as much while on the campaign trail. The irrational hoards of petition signers out there don't like it because it prevents them from feeding at the public trough to the extent they have become accustomed to. Cry me a river. It's about time you start paying for your benefits like those of us in the private sector. You still have it pretty good. The clear-minded voters in the State are tired of your bellyaching. Scott Walker is great for Wisconsin, and the majority of electorate reflects it. How'd I do DickTracy?

Even if what TomFoolery says is true, thank you Governor Walker!

On Spectrum Brands keeps headquarters in Wisconsin

youkillme, "sick joke for a governor", hey? Well, I guess that depends on your perspective. I look at Walker as a guy who did what he told us he was going to do. I think he's a responsible governor who saved our State from financial ruin. Take a look at Illinois and let us know what you think - it's crippled financially. Saxcat70 is right, keeping jobs in State sometimes takes spending money. I don't like it either, but if Spectrum left and took hundreds of jobs with it, you'd be bellyaching about that, too.

DickTracy, I guess you're afraid of the facts. Regardless, your response proves my point - like I said, "self-righteous, vindictive unionites". And just for the record, I've been gainfully employed for 30 years, in both the public and private sectors. So, once again, you are wrong.

Safe choice? Double digit unemployment in Rock County, a record number of people on food stamps nationally, a president who apologizes for who we are as a country, and you call that a safe choice? Ridiculous.

A complete waste of $9 million of taxpayer money by a group of self-righteous, vindictive unionites who didn't get their way. I wonder how they're going to feel when Governor Walker wins again? I think it's apparent that reasonable, clear-thinking people in Wisconsin see the facts and that tough choices had to be made for the greater good. Just take a look at what's happening in Illinois with its government finances....it now has the worst bond rating in the country. Wisconsin would be in a similar predicament were it not for Gov. Walker's leadership. Let's face it, the recall election is orchestrated by the unions and people who want something for nothing. Times have changed, folks, so you better get used to paying your fair share. I for one am tired of paying for your inflated salaries and benefits.

On Has the mild winter softened us?

I think we were soft long before this Winter. You can attribute some of that to circumstances like advancements in technology. Part of it is the litigious society in which we now live and how that impacts things like insurance costs. In the end, though, if you compare the post-WWII generations to those that preceded them, it's not even close. Our parents' generation (WWII) runs circles around us when it comes to toughness. This week's snowfall and certain people's reaction to it simply serves as a reminder of that.

On Janesville shelter volunteers report more new faces among homeless guests

Great story. There are a number of really good restauranteurs in Janesville, and Mark Otis is definitely one of them. I only know him from eating at Cornerstone/Milwaukee Grill, but based on the way I see him run his business, it doesn't surprise me in the least to see him contributing like this. Cheers to all involved!
