To thekid3477, number one if you read my post I'm no saying drinking is good, I'm saying it's bad and I could give you all sorts of info on what kind of damage alcohol does to a person, but the article isn't about drinking is it? We are talking about pot....so how can you call me a hypocrite? Seems to me both you and rep_of_1 are just a little too defensive about this subject...as to the physical affects pot can have on someone why don't you read this article on cnn http://www.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/02/09/hea... - it also can lower sperm count. Secondly rep_of_1 how is my opinion stating I live in a glass house? Did I not say that I have lived with people who have smoked pot on a regular basis and abused alcohol and have seen it destroy relationships, etc? I left my child's father after 5 years of his ongoing use of these drugs and it was the best decision I ever made saving my kid from that kind of life....so I guess if I sound holier than thou it is because I lived it, actually experienced it's effect secondhand so I guess I have the right to my opinion...seems to me you two are the one's who seem to be more narrow minded.
Maybe you should re read your own posts about judging people before you start talking about me judgemental...who is the hypocrite? Anyway isn't this post specifically here so people can express their opinion? So why the attack? Must have really struck a nerve....You both seem to take my post personally or neither of you would be that upset about my comments about this guy being a scumbag....seems to me you are the ones who need to learn not to be so hateful...

This doesn't surprise me after reading about that field of pot the police found last summer. But it does sicken me that there are scumbags like this man out there targeting young children to make a buck. And I don't think it should be legalized. But then I don't believe in using any medications, not even cold medicine. Pot is illegal because it is a mood alterating drug. And don't tell me it doesn't lead to other drugs, that's a crock. From someone who has seen and lived with others who have used and abused it, you can't tell me it's harmless. I have watched people I care about succumb to the effects of drugs and alcohol until I refused to be a part of it any longer.
As for Phelps, I don't feel sorry for Phelps, he is a role model and what does his actions say to kids? That it is okay to abuse his body and brain. As to the damage smoking pot does, physically like smoking anything, it does affect your lungs and your brain cells. It slows your reaction time, and affects your memory just like alcohol, and any other drug.
I am sick of all these drunk drivers in this state as well. They should all be locked up after their 1st offense. As for this dealer, I hope he gets what is coming to him and they make him work in a drug rehab facility so he can see exactly the kind of damage he has done to society. Or make him watch what affects this drug has on one of his own kids (if he has any)
over just even a period of one year to see how much that kid can change and not for the better.

Not to alarm anyone, but it is stupid to just ignore this. When is the school board going to get with the program? Our climate is changing and it is a cyclic change. Our temps and the amounts of snow we are experiencing are the coldest they have been in 150 years. We are heading back into another ice age within the next couple of hundred years. They need to do their research and be prepared. I think the school year should set aside at least 5 days a year/versus the one day they have now. They need to get real. I for one as a parent think it's ludicrous to expect there will only be one day used a year. Just look at some of the headlines on this page alone http://www.iceagenow.com/.
It is so typical for people to hide their heads in the sand and then act like they are surprised when things actually come to pass.

why are you saying that my post is accusing you of being stupid for being concerned about people's safety? What I was saying is why are people being stupid and complaining about people who are driving too slow? It seems to me that is the issue I'm referring to. I'm talking about the people who say they have four wheel drive and have no problem and don't want to slow down. Maybe you need to re read my post to fully understand it before you respond and get all defensive.

I can't believe how stupid people are sometimes. You complain even if someone is driving slower. What if someone can't afford to get new tires and can barely make it up the hill because of the conditions but has to make it to work anyway? I swear you people complain over everything. Slow down and be considerate that is all that's really important. And yes, if I could afford to buy a new or old four wheel drive car I would but can't so people need to just deal with it like I do. Why do you always have to judge when you have no idea what the other person has/doesn't have or is doing, do you know why they are driving slower? Maybe they have children in the back of their car and want to make sure they get them somewhere safely. I hope someday you are judged right back and have to walk a mile in someone else's shoes. Just remember to use your brain and drive more carefully. Life is too short to risk your life and someone else's because you are overconfident in your driving.

I have a driveway that is on a hill and people who are driving by don't realize I can't stop at the bottom of the hill. People need to be aware that even if I try to stop I'm not always able to and slide right out into Racine St. I'm thankful that no one has broadsided me yet but come on people use your brains...when you see a car backing out of a driveway, don't always assume they can stop. I had to go out to buy more ice melt and cat litter and put it at the bottom of my driveway. It has helped but I still slide and have no control. Please be aware of potential hazards and slow down!
I inch my way down the driveway and it doesn't help I can slide 30 feet on ice even when I started braking at more than 50 feet.

all I know is I get really sick and tired of people driving like maniacs and endangering my safety and my kids not to mention their own by speeding. I drive the speed limit and when someone sits on my tail and then passes me on a place like Racine St I have to demand justice. Thank God someone did get nailed for that just last week. There is some divine justice afterall. Seriously folks, going 10 miles over the speed limit is not going to make you get there that much faster. I've clocked people passing me and going approx 10 miles faster and they got off the next off ramp. I arrived at the the same off ramp not even 30 seconds later. And don't forget all of those idiots that pass you and end up next to you at the red light ahead. That's really smart isn't it? They really gained a lot. There are some really bright people there. They deserve to get pulled over.

I think they should leave it alone. Making Milwaukee and Court Streets two way isn't going to help anything. We should save the money. If they really want to fix something, why don't they fix the corner of Ruger, Court and Garfield? That is a dangerous intersection and they have had many accidents to prove it.
