On Season's first storm complicates morning commute for residents

Posted on December 1 at 12:22 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

One quick question. I had to go out to Walgreens at 10 p.m. last night and noticed a snow plow truck putting down salt on a very snow covered and slushy Blackbridge road. Is there a reason they can not drop their plows and clear off the road at the same time so that the salt will work better on what is left? Seems they could kill two birds with one stone and save fuel cost. Just wondering. Hopefully someone out there has the correct answer. Thanks

I stand corrected on my earlier post. I just drove by the properties on North main and they are gone. They were demolished today. Finally.

Wow. Here we go again. Why are the properties in the 400 block of N. Main still standing? They have been condemed and are a worse eyesore than this shed. I guess it is because they are not owned by Briarmoon.

On AT&T provides TV, Internet in Janesville

I only have Charter for internet but have Direct TV. Charter's motto is to offer you incentives to get you to switch over and then the heck with you. As an existing customer, they could care less because they have you now. I spent a considerable amount of time on the phone with them before they finally saw I was going to drop them and THEN they offered me a reasonable rate for internet. I will never go back to them for tv. The people at the office could care less about your concerns. Competition is good but not if it is offered at the same price as Charter.

On Obama's associations keep character suspect

For those of you who bash Obama, please remember that all is not pure and innocent in the McCain camp either. Obama might have had a relationship many years ago with Bill Ayers, but why is no one bringing up the radical association John McCain has with G. Gordon Liddy. The white supremist who held a fundraiser in his home with McCain and raised over $5000 and even gave $1000 to him this year. Liddy, who spent time in prison for Watergate, felt Hitler had an impact on him as a child and gave him strenth. Liddy advised Branch Davidians on his show on how to defend themselves against ATF agents. McCain claimed it was over 20 years ago and should not matter. It was actually only 10 years. Amazing how when it comes to Obama it is wrong but it is acceptable for McCain. I am voting for Obama and agree that nothing on this site will convince me otherwise. I have hope with this man.

Piznat: I have NEVER had to show ID to vote. Never. Just give my name and address and that is it. Why do you think it is already a law? Friends of mine came up here from another state and she actually was allowed to register her husband without any verification of address. He did not even have to show up. If it is already a law, then the pollsters are not doing their job.

Jakiao: Sorry, I did not know. I don't read enough of these I guess. I apologize. I am a Veteran of 33 years myself serving in both Vietnam and the Persian Gulf. From one veteran to another, be safe and Godspeed, thekai.

thekai: Where have you been? It has been at $2.99 for over a week and just dropped to $2.89 today. I was in Madison today and paid $2.85. Funny how it was only $1.69 a gallon when the price of oil was at less than $70 a barrel like it was yesterday. Someone still making a lot of money.

On Palin revs up Republicans for McCain

I actually watched the speeches last night and came to just two conclusions: One, nothing said about fixing the 450 trillion dollar deficit Bush has left for us or how anything is going to be done. Just Obama bashing and TWO: She appears to be the only candidate qualified to run for President because with her statements and requirements for the top two offices, she also disqualified John McCain along with Obama and Biden.
