This is probably just the start; as more jobs are lost and the more desperate people get the more this will happen. People just have to remember to be more aware.

The first couple of years they did this it was wonderful..in more recent years it has been a disappointment. Hope JPD is ready for an onslaught of accidents. Heck, why not just put it in front of the mall.

gmaof3 you are very judgemental and don't know the facts. Nick may have been at fault or not. The point is all the facts aren't listed. He wasn't speeding or driving recklace. He was however trying to cross the 4 lanes of Center Ave. Another one of Janesville's major speed lanes.

16 years ago I was in a serious wreck. My best friend who lived in Michigan at the time was back for a funeral. The Gazette listed me as treated and released when in fact I was in ICU at Mercy Hospital with a skull fracture, spinal fluid leak, and broken clavical. I was in the hospital for a week; she had returned to Michigan thinking I was ok. She tried to contact me for a week without getting any answer. It wasn't until I after I was released she found out the facts. The Gazette didn't have the facts as they don't in this case.
Nick was most likely not turning on to Center Avenue but crossing it. He had his seatbelt on (he was suspended by the seatbelt). How bout getting the facts straight? My guess is the the fire department not the police department know more about if the seatbelt was on or not. I mean, they would after all have to cut it to get Nick out of the car.
Could have speed been a factor? The speed limit changes where the accident happened; but I don't think Janesville has an enforced speed limit anywhere as it has become a raceway. Cars fly by me on Milton Ave, Blackbridge, Center, Mineral Point (by Franklin M.S.), Memorial, Parker Dr., Hwy 14. Cops go by and don't pull anyone over. A few times I thought for sure I was going to get tickets, the cop never even pulled out.
