On Senate calls for Democrats to be taken into custody

Governor Walker IS TRYING to do his job. He needs his awol senators to return to Wisconsin and DO THEIR JOB. Then the State of Wisconsin can move forward and our Governor can do what he was elected to do; particularly to fix the state budget crisis. Someone has to be accountable and take care of the debt! The last governor didn't do anything about the crisis. And here we are today: in a crisis. Moneys raided from the transportation fund and the Tobacco settlement was taking from Peter to pay Paul. Can't people see that! The awol senators are representing only a fraction of their constituents. They need to come home. Their absence is a distraction from running the state. And, look at the mess the protestors have done to our the capitol building. The clean up, repainting the building will cost millions. Not to mention the grounds around the Capitol. It is time to move on and run the state government as it should be: with all senate and assembly leaders present.

Totally agree with Esther's article. This is how many constituents (Democratic, Republican or Independent) feel that don't belong to and have never been supported by unions. This crisis in our state has certainly been an unveiling of how injust the system has been for a very long time. We've let it coast too long and the tax payer has been flipping the bill. Time to buck up people! Wow, was I ever shocked to see what state employees pay for health care, knowing full well how much my family's health insurance costs every month...well over $500.00 No one is collective bargaining for me, and I work 12 months a year with a 2 week vacation. Maybe those in unions would have more money in their pockets if they were not paying union dues. Those griping about the concessions that unions will need to make will be crying a river when reality hits them that they are getting laid off. No job? Been there...done that.

Yes, the time has come for the ordination of women in the Catholic Church. The hierarchy are already sweating the change...and someday we'll watch pink smoke rise from the Vatican.

I'm disappointed in the Janesville Gazette for removing my comment on Bishop Morlino. (Along with my positive comment on the new Bishop of La Crosse). Nothing I mentioned was in poor taste or that has not been said before or already publicly printed in the Wisconsin State Journal, National Catholic Reporter, U.S. Catholic magazine or other media. Get with the times, Gazette!

On Will Milton College Become A Ghost Town?

This Milton College alum wishes that this beautiful campus was still as vibrant as it once was. But, those days are gone and it's time for Milton to move forward. Perhaps, as Jim Lyke suggests, an investor will see through the vandalism and old buildings and resurrect this former private college into a UW-satellite school or a campus for new industry. Forget the shops...bring in the jobs because Milton and Rock County need it. I wish you all the best Milton!

Quit whining....we're all a little deprived of sleep at various times in our lives. I can't believe the Gazette even ran an article like this one! Times must be tougher in Janesville than I thought!

It is now time to move on folks. So, state employees won't have a 'middle man' to negotiate with the managers. Welcome to the real world where the rest of us taxpayers go to work and if we have a grievance, we talk directly to the boss to settle matters. And if you don't like the outcome you look for a new job. The free ride for Wisconsin's public employee unions is over. Happy to see them be accountable in paying more for their own health insurance and pensions; just like the rest of middle class America does. And guess what? Public employees will also find there will be more dollars in paychecks when union dues cease to be deducted. Settle down and quit crying a river. Governor Walker did the right thing in balancing this state budget.
