Let's see...banks should pay all the little checks first and bounce your mortgage payment? OK!

On Antennas, Anyone?

Posted on November 25 at 12:30 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

We have an antenna (can't get cable out between Jefferson and Fort). Once we got our digital box, we were able to get almost 60 channels including 3 Madison pbs and 3 or 4 Milwaukee pbs stations! As for internet...go wireless (NETWURX is great!)

On Should state rein in payday lenders?

Posted on September 30 at 10:51 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

The original concept may have made sense. "I just need a small loan to get me to payday". However, many people that use these are not educated in amount of interest they are actually paying. Some have been as much as 600% apr. When you quote a 36% annual percentage rate, that is the annual figure. If you take a loan for only a month, you would only pay .10% daily. Banks actually have products that are less expensive. Also, maybe some personal budget counseling by your banker would be in order. These businesses should be more strongly regulated. They have ruined many people financially.

On Milton ethanol plant doesn’t have permit to revoke

It has been interesting that some days when the neighbors complain, the plant has been in a planned shut down. Is this a matter of complaining for the sake of complaining?

On Celebrating your local library

Posted on April 15 at 10:20 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

Christina's Book Club, which celebrated it's 10th yr in 2008, also enjoys the Hedberg, Edgerton, Jefferson, and Fort Atkinson Libraries. They have also been able to provide us with the books needed for our 9 members (ages ranging from 73 to 30 yrs of age!). These are all wonderful facilities (the Jefferson library reminds me of what the Janesville Library when I was a little girl).
