On Where to go for help

"No one can make it out of poverty on his or her own. It takes support from people and groups." This is true, but it is not as easy as it sounds. One group or person refers you to another. I spent most of the day on the phone trying to get help for a homeless boy, but he is still homeless with no mentor to guide him & get him started in life. A place to stay for a week is not the solution if there is no bigger plan after that. Factors such as sex (male), age, and location all enter in. It seems like help is available only if you meet certain criteria. It takes someone to guide him through the process to find a suitable place to live, to find a job, and enable him to finish high school (1 semester). With all the talk of help around us, none is to be found.
