On Janesville city golf operations will change

Posted on February 15 at 8:22 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

I no longer live in Janesburg, but when I do visit I don't have the desire to play Riverside anymore. The fairways are terrible, and until the the city puts some money back into the the golf course, I'll play else where. The city owns the land, they make 140,000 annually, but don't put anything back into the course. It was the same thing when they ran the operation. Zilch.

On Billionaire Hendricks dies after fall

I was deeply shocked first, then saddened upon hearing of Ken's passing. My deepest condolences to Diane and Ken's family. Also, to the entire ABC family of employees that Ken cared so much about. Ken and I go back along way, growing up together on the west side of Janesville. I think I first meet Ken in church,(Mt.Calvery), when it was on washington street. Ken's parents, (Joe and Ann) became good friends of my parents, going on trips and playing cards together. As we grew older and went our separate ways, we sort of lost track each other. Until a couple of years ago, I ran into him at Gander Mountain,(he was looking for a pair of pants that zip off to shorts for a safari he was taking a group of his employees on). We talked awhile and brought up some of the old times we had together. The thing about Ken was you could'nt tell if he was a billionaire or a street person, he was just so down to earth guy. I like to think Ken was a hands on type of guy working right along side the next guy. I will always remember Ken as a friend from way back. He will be missed dearly by the communities he served. gblum1@tampabay.rr.com
