I am married to a man that was born in Cuba. He said when he was a kid growing up he doesn't remeber any predge there. Everyone got along according to him. He came here when he was 10 during the fredom flights. The stories he told me he had endured when in the United States puts tears in my eyes. I live in South Florida and have every kind of man kind where I live. I have been descriminated against just because I have a Hispanic last name. And I know the reason is not that i'm white (which I am), but because I don't speak spanish. So what do I do now sue the school district because they failed to teach me Spanish. I had to call the courthouse one day to get some info on something. A lady answered the phone with a accent that was so thick with dialect obvoius to me was from Haiti. I could not understand her and asked to speak with someone else, so what does she do she hangs up on me. Well I called back and in my best English you can imagine what I told her. Anyways my point being give the job to who's best to serve the community. Not just because some number cruncher needs a job.

Americans, Arab Americans, etc. And then here are just Americans.
You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction. You call me
'White boy,' 'Cracker,' 'Honkey,' 'Whitey,' 'Caveman' ... And that's OK.
But when I call you, nig Kike, Towel head, Sand-nig,
Camel Jockey, Beaner, Gok, or Chink ... You call me a racist. You say
that Whites commit a lot of violence against you... So why are the
ghettos the most dangerous places to live?
You have the United Negro College Fund. You have Martin Luther
King Day. You have Black History Month. You have Cesar Chavez Day .
You have Yom Hashoah . You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi. You have the NAACP.
You have BET..
If we had WET (White Entertainment Television), we'd be racists..
If we had a White Pride Day, you would call us racists. If we
Had White History Month, we'd be racists.
If we had any organization for only whites to 'advance'
our, Lives we'd be racists.
We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber of
Commerce, and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce.
Wonder who pays for that??
A white woman could not be in the Miss Black American pageant,
But any color can be in the Miss America pageant.
If we had a college fund that only gave white students
Scholarships. You know we'd be racists.
There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in the US .
Yet if there were 'White colleges' That would be a racist college..
In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching
For your race and rights.
If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us
Racists.
You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're
Not afraid to announce it.
But when we announce our white pride, you call us racist!
You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us. But, when a white
Police officer shoots a black gang member or beats up a black
drug-dealer running from the law and posing a threat to society, you
call him a racist.
I am proud... But you call me a racist.
Why is it that only whites can be racists?
That's why we have lost most of OUR RIGHTS in
This Country. We won't stand up for ourselves!

Were in America everyones entitled to an education. Just ask any illegal alien on the street. Remeber george bushes no child left behind. If you ever watch a tv show with prisoners most are very young and i'm sure they fell into the no child left behind catgory. Unfotunatly many were left behind. And are now young men and women.

I agree with this part of your comment.
People commit crimes because they made poor choices, not because they have a therapist telling them to follow through on a plan to commit a crime. or blame their crimes on their race or a lack of compassion from other people.
However this part is not necceraly the way it is in prison.
Criminals should not be able to order pizza from prison, watch cable tv, earn a degree while in prison.
Prisoners should be able to earn degrees they have to be able to conform to society when they get out. The pizza they get costs them more than you pay, and it's realy bad. Not like good pie you may get on the streets. The only ones who usualy get this treat is someone who has a loved one on the outside. the majority of prisoners are between the ages of 17 to 30. most are male but the female population is growing daily. Theres a kids book called it takes a village. And it realy does take a village to keep these people out of prison. It's everyones responsibility to be kind to others, give a helping hand when one is troubled. One hand washes the other, both wash the face.

Some real dumb comments here. The men are very lucky to be alive. doc0430 you made a good point. JPD proberly pissed because they had to actualy do some work. Funny how everywhere the cops go they find pot. Seems like crimes in Janesville are getting worst everyday. Just because your a pothead doesn't warrent getting assaulted in your own home. So you better lock your doors because you may be next.

almeg I don't know about everyone else here but I think AIG ceos should be in prison. And then flogged by the public daily. Things here are not much better than Janesville. I lived in Janesville about 5 years ago and the jobs were scarce then. I drove 70 miles one way to work. How much more crule can it get. Lay offs 2 days before Christmas. My heart is with you all.

Reminds me of a story about someone who bought a car at a police auction. The person got pulled over and the cops just so happened to have a drug sniffing dog. Anyways pot was found in the search. The person who bought the car at auction went to jail. Funny how the story went. The car was seized in a drug raid and put up for auction, but noone from the dept that auctioned the car checked it for drugs. Well there was pot found everywhere in the cars hidden areas. Behind door panels etc. The only thing that saved this person was that the pot was so old it fell apart. Thus saving an innocent person from going to prison. I'm glad that wasn't me that bought that car. Senerios like this happen every day. Innocent people are treated like criminals.
