On Park decoy patrol designed as deterrent

Posted on September 2 at 6:37 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

This park is, and always has been, a beautiful park. Several hiking trails that one can use in the summer and then XC Ski or snow shoe in the winter. A babbling brook that one can stop next to and relax or stand on one of the many bridges and watch. I especially love it after a fresh snowfall in the early spring with all the birds chirping. That one big hill on the east side always makes me fall though... I don't mind the cops being there at all I have nothing to hide and do nothing wrong in there, unless enjoying the peace and quiet and nature is wrong...

On Security of Janesville's municipal building a concern for council

Posted on August 26 at 7:23 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

What the city attorney was trying to say was if you open the building up to one non-government group you have to open it up to all groups. So if the KKK or Hells Angels or whatever wanted to use it they would have to be allowed to. Is that something we want? I don't and I don't think the city council did either.

Ken Witt looks like he has experience in situations like we are facing here in Janesville. He also looks very well qualified and won't need a new drivers licence. I say go with him.

On Officer won’t be cited in squad crash

Here is the kicker question. Did Matt get a ticket for failure to yeild right of way as they reported. If the police officer didn't get a ticket than I think Matt should not get one either. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

On Owners of flooded properties must make decisions

Posted on August 8 at 7:50 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

DRTALK:
The federal government will pay 75 percent of the cost, with the state and city chipping in 12.5 percent each. The city can use in-kind matches to come up with that money, such as doing the demolition or paying landfill fees, Lee said.

That means if the cost of demolition and landfill fees runs 12.5 percent of the "pre-flood fair market value" the homeowner would not get any cash from the city, just the fed and state portion.

On Police target violators on Milton Avenue

I would say don't use the officer's discretion, give a ticket every time! Everyone that drives knows that doing that stuff is against the laws of the road and have no excuse for it!
