I just have to say that salvation army is a fantastic organization who helps a lot of people in our community. I know captain kirk and his wife personally as well as the volunteer coordinator(who is in charge of all the bell ringers) they are the most giving and compassionate people you will ever meet. They have no hidden agenda when people come in and need assistance whether it be for food, bus tokens, or christmas toys for their children because they just can't afford it. They do not ask you your sexual backgroud, they just ask your income and what you NEED. And as far as them lobbying against gay rights......catholic churches do the same thing, it would never stop them from helping people in need. Religious beliefs at salvation army has never got in the way of helping people in need and to the people that talk so much crap about how they help the people they help it is disgusting. For your sake I hope you never have to ask for help because the people that will be waiting to assist will be the salvation army and other religious organizations!!!

My 18 year old cousin was killed by a drunk driver who had 6 prior drunk driving convictions it was devastating to the family, this jerk was sentenced 7 years in prison for murdering my cousin!!! At his sentencing, after the sentence was handed down he turned and looked at my cousins mother and said "I hope your happy!!!" 1st offense drunk driving should be a felony conviction, hopefully soon people will realize how stupid drinking and driving is, no matter how many drinks you have had!!

I live in milton and have not driven area yet, however, I know this woman was a wife and a mother and it is sickening to think that they wouldn't have thought to put up a damn sign to let drivers know that there was a curve approaching!!! When we get our drivers liscense we have to know damn near every road sign, if there not going to utilize them what's the point of knowing them!!! My thoughts and deepest sympathy to her family, may she rest in piece!!
On Police arrest suspected heroin dealers

Kid I was not saying that there aren't problems in other areas but as citizens of rock county we should all be concerned! And to answer your question, no I have never been an addict but my brother is a recovering addict and will be for the rest of his life! I also have have seen the effects of heroin use on childrens parents who use it! I know 2 babies who were taken from their mother because she was a terrible junkie who left needles on the floor while they walked around, who would leave them home alone for hours to fend for themselves so she could get a fix!! So yes my friend it is a choice! When u first put that needle in your arm you are making a choice at that very moment!! After thart then its an addiction!! So yes I understand an addiction and no don't have any sympathy for people who CHOOSE to try heroin and know how addicting its is because we all learn in elementary school about drugs!! My 4th grade daughter knows what heroin is!! When you try a highly addictive drug such as heroin that is a choice, when you steal from people to get a fix and leave your babies home alone both under the age of 8 then yep no sympathy from me!!! Not when I have to see these babies be afraid at night because they used to have to hide from drug dealers, and to be taught not to talk to police!! That's not my opinion those are the facts!! Sorry if that offends anybody:)

"Smart girl" I am not here to JUDGE anyone! The matter at hand is that we have a HUGE drug problem in this country and especially our area, which we should ALL be concerned with including you! Addiction is a terrible thing to go through but it is also a CHOICE plain and simple! If you choose to do heroin then you are choosing to be an addict! And further more the JUDGES we pay tax dollars for are giving these people little more than a slap on the wrist, me as citizen of this country has a right to state my opinions! And as far as not knowing what people are going through, your right I can honestly say I am not a heroin addict! However, as a mother, I would never want to do anything to harm my babies lives or anyone in my family by CHOOSING to use such a drug that is EXTREMELY addictive and even less educated people would KNOW how terribly life changing Heroin is!!! So call us what you want but I know whatever I "go through" in my life would never cause me to become a junkie!!! Its called inability to cope!! Everybody has tough and tragic things they "go through" but its called LIFE!!!

On Attorney sentenced to probation in heroin case

These two will continue to get a light sentence because the system is flawed. Junkies get a lot of sympathy because of their "disease". I personally know 2 junkies who have had ample oppurtunities to change their ways through rehab, huber and drug court. One of the 2 gems is in huber in rcj and the other one is about to get sentenced for her drug charges after being kicked out of drug court, she has an extensive criminal history that includes over 20 criminal charges but she was still allowed in drug court!?!?!? Well exactly what I thought was gonna happen did happen she was court ordered to 30 days inpatient treatment after testing positive for opiates several times in drug court. She gets out of rehab on tuesday and failes a urine test on wednesday after testing positive for opiates again. The charge she is getting sentenced for carries a maximum of 13 years in prison what do you think the sentence will be? Prolly a year in rcj with huber...that's just our system I guess. Its sad because these two fantastic members of society have stolen, lied, conspired and put innocent children at risk and they will only get a year in rcj with huber!!! The sad thing is they are mother and daughter junkies......wow what a family dynamic and its allowed because of a flawed system!!!
