On New drug trend includes use of legal substances

Posted on May 31 at 10 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

I tis called space and it is just as dangerous as dangerous as pot! I have heard it called many things: spice, orbit, fake baker...
There are many different levels of the substance and there are different variants of highs. This is one things I hate knowing about, I hate that my kids know about it too! This space/spice stuff is just as potent as pot and just as dangerous! I don't care what you call it, it is pot without the illegal aspect!

On Retiring music teacher helps Milton students shine

Posted on December 18 at 11:23 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

To my Jane,
You have taught me more about music and life than you will ever know. Through the years you have watched me to grow up from a child to a woman to a mother and to raise kids of my own, you have watched me be a fool with your kids (especially with Lisa). You have taught my brother piano and taught me my clarinet solos and vocal solos for high school. Many nights we practiced my music and I hated it, but life is not about easy, that is what you told me.
I love like a mom and I love your family like my own. This past year and a half has been very difficult for your family and I have been there some for your family. I am always here, no matter what, you deserve the stars and moon and hte world, you are an awesome woman and mother! Thank you for being such an inspiration to so many kids and adults. Larry is watching you and sending his love, he and alot of other people are very blessed to have had you touched their lives and hearts! Thank you for letting me be a part of your life, I love you!
Happy retirement and many happy blessings to you andyour family this holiday season! Safe travels!
Love always

On Wis. bill would crack down on payday lenders

Posted on May 30 at 2:44 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

Boy some of the people on here are so high and mighty! Good thing that they have money and will never know what it feels like to scrape the bottom of the barrel just to pay a bill. Sometimes there is nowhere else to ask for help. If a loan vampire is where we have to turn, believe me that is our last resort! If I may add to that, some of you sound so high and mighty and full of yourselves, I'd like to say I hope you never have a hard day/month/week/year in your life when your job just isn't paying the bills and all your "helping" resourses are tapped out. Bless you all and may your good forture never turn bad. For those of us in the real world, things happen when the job doesn't cover all our bills or sickness hits or this that and the other, we need help and we need it fast. Call us short sighted, call us childish for not saving enough, but please don't call us stupid, we did not cause this unforeseen event that landed us in the loan vampire's office. You think we want to be there?! Oh yeah we want to pay $250 on $100 paycheck, boy we sure are managing our money a lot better this way than letting our kids starve or letting our house payement go or groceries go or the next thing. We are NOT stupid people, we are tired, worn out, hopeless, depressed, and at the end of our ropes when we walk into those clutches. I would rather sell a kidney illegally than to have to go to a loan vampire, but if a loan is what it takes, then the extra hours is what I will put in and the things I will go without until it is all paid off.
Those are my personal thoughts and opinions. We are not stupid people, get that throught your heads.

On Gay marriages expected to begin in Iowa April 24

Posted on April 14 at 10:32 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

Why are we so afraid of same sex marriages? Is love not love no matter who is involved, same sex or not? Are we not taught as children that everyone is created equal and everyone has feelings no matter what? That is what we teach our children correct? We are taught that everyone is allowed to love whomever they want no matter what, love knows knows borders. There is no handbook for love, no right or wrong way for love and there is definitely no way for anyone to force there beliefs onto anyone else. Been a mother of two children I am very greatful for them openmindness that they do have. Yes we do believe that love is blind when is comes to male and female and colors and race and nationality and econoic standing and everything else that may stand in the way of getting to know the real the person. If one of my children were to be involved in a same sex relationship I would be proud and I would stand beside them and encourage them to be themselves. Why should they hide just because some people want to be ignorant and closemindedness?

On Group looks for ways to educate blacks on breastfeeding

Posted on December 11 at 8:30 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

localboysince1968-how rude! You are stereotyping people you don't personaly know!

Being a child provider I can say that I see more caucasian state aided children come through my door than black babies. I am still one of those daycares that is not state licenced, just stae certified and I do take state aided children. Many of the mothers who are either in my daycare or who have been in my daycare have not been able to breastfeed due to work or school or schedule conflicts. I have two of my own children whom I was fortunate enough to be able to nurse, even when I would work 12-18 hours a day outside my house. One job I held down while also nursing my child was at Perkins here in Janesville and the other one is Target, also in Janesville. I had a support system, aome of these young mothers, or any of the mothers in general do not have a support system. My husband would bring my child up to my work and I would nurse and then I was good for 2-3 hours. Yes it was a pain, but it is not totally out of the picture. Both of the jobs that I had were kind of undertsanding, but I would not say totally supportive. Though I do remember a couple times when I was not able to nurse for 5-6 hours and then I started leaking and I had to change my shirt a few times bc I was not able to get to my child.
I just think that the people who do have problems nursing, it could be for many reasons that we are not aware of or that we are not understanding. Sometimes the baby just doesn't latch on, sometimes the mothers have inverted nipples that makes it harder for her to nurse, or sometimes there are superficial obsticals that the mother is dealing with. Whatever the reason, let the mother do what she feels is right for her, state aided or not. When a child is born, you are not yet a mother, it is when you start to take care of that human being as if your life depended on it, you set your own wants, needs, and must haves aside and you start to put that little, defenseless, and growing human being first. That is what I think a mother is, someone who does right by the child, no matter what everyone else thinks. Nobody can know what happens in other people's lives or why they are who they are, nobody knows what anybody else is like when they are by themselves.

Billnewbie: thank you for your post and I completely understand what you are saying about the definition. There are many different reasons why people kill and yes the law needs to be tailored to fit the crime. As for my attackers, they were family or family friends. Can't really do away with them.
I again apologize if I stepped on anyone's toes, I never meant to belittle what our men and women and people's children are doing over in the war.

As I had stated before, look at my previous post. I was just pointing out that there are many reasons why people kill. Not everything is as cut and dried as it sometimes seems. It is just like when you have kids in school and they get reprimanded and you only hear one side of the story. You are furious with what you are told, but then you get the other side and then you are a bit more clued in into what really happened. I apologize for the harshness of my comment before, I have family over in the war and I mean no disrespect. I am also a victim of rape and abuse, therefore I was just pointing out the people do reactions to actions that are done unto them or their loved ones. Again I mean no disrespect and I apologize if I stepped on anyone's toes or hrut anyone's feelings.

I know that I will be getting grief for saying this, but if anyone who commits murder is scum, then you are also saying that everyone who is fighting for our freedom is scum (huge elephant in the room). This is not to say that I am anti-american either, just giving examples. You are also saying that the wife/huband/child who is abused and finally does away with their attacker is scum. Now don't get me wrong, I agree with you that the guy should not have been in a medium facility.(please refer to my previous post)I think that for us to say that everyone who commits murder is scum therefore they deserve the death penalty, I think that that is a very generalized statement and needs to be curbed with special circumstances. I am able to take the critisisms that this comment will bring, but I am just stating that special circumstances need to be taking into consideration when talking about murder. Not everything is as cut and dried as it seems sometimes.

Ok a lot of you say dealth penalty, but does no one else see another flaw in this story? How about he had the weapon at his disposal in the furniture shop! WHAT THE......come on! Seriously! Why do they have a furniture shop with weapons at the violent criminal's disposal?! Is that not just like asking for trouble?!! Just my two cents and my keen observation of the article. Come on people! We have running tracks in the jails, so that when the criminals escape, the cops can't catch them bc the criminals are in better shape than the officers, then we let them get an education and degrees that sometimes turn around and bite us in the ass, and then of course we have the work shops in jails where there are weapons that hurt the people who are trying to protect. I may not be as old or as wise as most of you or some of you who post on here, but I have just made some blantant observations and we are screwed. When did jail become a school, workshop, gym, and college free of charge (or almost) for our troubled citizens? Hello! This is common sense knocking and he brought with him captain obvious, with his girlfriend give me a break, open up....

On Should schools check out volunteers?

Posted on October 9 at 7:45 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

FYI:
The preditor that sits in the classroom at the school does not have any children of his own, whether they be in school or not. None of the children in the school are his, so essencially he should have no right to sit in a clasroom or go on field trips with these children. I understand that "overbearing parents" can be preditors too, but this is not a parent or even a relative of a child in this school. Plus since the school is aware of his lifetime ban of being involved in anything that has to deal with children, why is he still allowed to attend this functions and classroom activities? Mom22qtpies and I have talked with his PO, the state worker, the police, and also the teachers, yet he is still in our classrooms.
For the parents or commentors that say we are overreacting and that it is not as bad as it sounds, please send your child with this man. Let him be alone with them, let him chaperone them to the bathroom and help them with their things, and then let your child tell you that this man touched them, how would that make you feel? You could have prevented this, background checks are for the safety of everyone. For those of you who are against it, fine, but when something happens with a person that could have been prevented by a bakcground check, don't complain.
Also if he is so harmless why is one of his aliases a children's movie title?
