On Number of poor students on the rise in most Walworth County districts

This article is about Poverty and their choice of "SURVIVE or education", I did not see anything in this article about "TEACHER'S" not doing their job or their pay. I see it doesn't take long for people to start blaming Obama or Walker. Lets look at some facts, min wage$7.25 x 40 hrs week x 52weeks = $15080 (2 adults =$30160) Federal Poverty for a family of 4 is $22350. What does this mean? It means to live within your means, too many people buy things that they dont need (big house, 2 new cars, Motorcycle, boats) and can not afford the toys and put food on the table. Also, I see so many workers go out to the bar after pay day and how much do they drop there...$25, $50 or $100? That all adds up to alot of money over the year ($1300,$2600, $5200 respectively). WHAT EDUCATION IS MISSING? How to budget your income and what is a need vs a want. How many homeless people do you see with cell phones and computers...just go to the shelter and look. I was taught to spend money on food and clothing before widgets/ gadgets. (And I did have this conversation with a "Business Teacher" at a local High School and was told this is what they teach but only to those students taking the class since business is not a required class.

Really??? did he really destroy public education (I think Tommy T. did some of that and the fact that the teacher's union had a say in some of what is going on with the way teachers teach (or don't teach as some of them do)). I agree with what walker did from a business stand point since the government is nothing more that a business and since the revenue is MINE/OURS taxpayer money I would like it spent on what matters not on extreme benefits that I as a taxpayer do not get from my employeer. I do not like that way he did it, but from dealing with unions in my private life, sometimes you have to do it the way a union tries to and that is to bully it or sneak in thru. The only people that this really hurt was the UNION LEADERS that get paid to what (since they don't add any value to anything except what goes into their own pocket).

So where does the money from the fines go? (if you were $6150 over the limit x3 =$18,450 +$500 for a grand total of $18,950 for only 1 person (offense). So where does this go? who is benefiting from it? I would speculate that some of it is used for the budget of the Government Accountability Board.
On Funeral home blocks off parking in downtown Janesville

you all need to re-read the article...it is not the city that is upset..it is the other downtown business. If they want the parking then they show buy the building..why should the tax payers keep paying for the needs of business. They should form a group and buy the properties and maintain the property..(another example expecting tax payer money for private business profit).

"more than 2 miles north of Mauston" ...what does that mean? Is it just north of Mauston or is it by Park Falls? There is a lot of land that is more than 2 miles north...might as well said more than 2 miles north of Janesville.

John Deere wants 237,500sqft, flex companies use 150,000 sqft, potential company wants 400,000 sqft....that equals 787,500 sqft. How do you fit that into the former LSI building that is only 700,000 sqft? "You have some splaining to do, Lucy" - Ricky Ricardo

What do you mean a pay cut....it is still their money, they just have to put it into a retirement account...or do they even have to contribute (is it an option?)...All I have to say is welcome to the rest of the working class that all have to contribute to their own retirement (401K type plans).
On Email: Walker considered cuts to state worker pay
Posted on September 25 at 2:46 p.m. ( Suggest removal )
it must be a slow news day...why else would someone consider this news. Government is a business and when the business is not making a profit, everything that can be cut/eliminated/reduced to balance the budget should be considered. But this is old news from a previous e-mail...open records laws used in this situation old cause a uproar of bad feelings and do nothing to improve society...it only widens the gap between us...

I thought that GM was going re-start the Janesville plant...what happened??? Could it have been the fact that Janesville is an old plant? no major vendors near by? I thought they said "If you build the road we would be here for a long time". I guess the word "long" means different lengths of time to some than it does others. ---a little sarcasim

On Walker expands child-abuse reporting requirement

The article states "They say UW employees might not have known how to react when they suspect child abuse, and the new rule helps spell it out." What does this say about the morals of those workers....that are paid with my tax dollars? Society has become so messed up.
