On Craig's Kuehne to retire at the end of the school year

I'm sad...I was fotunate to experience the kindness and compassion that Mr. Kuehne showed me through out my years at wilson. Mr. Kuehne took over after Mr. Graper retired and I tell you what...those were GIANT foot steps to follow in. Mr. Kuehne stepped in and he cared about us kids the same way Mr. Graper did. If I have one particular memory and if my memory is serving me correctly I recall a student of minority was kind of lost through the system... and Mr. Kuehne took him in temporarily. I was amazed at how much a stranger could care about another kid. And those of us at Wilson already had a bad wrap by the community as being lost kids, or poor or 4th ward trouble makers etc but he never looked at our 'social status or our parents class' he always looked at what was inside our hearts and felt each child deserved the same respect as he would have given a child who lived in a mansion and who's parents made millions. I ran into Mr. Kuehne about 3 years ago at an event in town and he still remembered me... not for my time of going to school with his son but for my time he served as my principal at wilson. I consider myself lucky and blessed to have known Mike. Thank you for your years of caring and I hope they find someone to fill your giant foot steps as well as you did for Mr. Graper and for Mr. Disrude at Craig. Thank you!

PRINNY68~ KUDOS TO YOUR POST...it literally was an awakening for me! Your statements are so very strong but yet so true! I called my husband into the room to read him your post. I have to agree 100% with your comment and agree "my friends...that's parenting". WE need to stop being concerned with being friends with our kids and be parents. they need guidance and structure and support and love and be there to help them create their own paths in life.
Amen to your comments!!
On Prent continues to expand global presence

obviously some of you are missing the facts! The majority of prent's customers are from over seas. The shipping costs alone would probably put the company in huge debt and not have the opportunity to serve those customers. SO instead they do it right if you ask me! The build in the country that they do the most business in to save on shipping costs. It's cut and dry. One person stated they make the packaging for X-BOX controlors. How many AMERICAN homes have X-Boxes? ALOT! and where were those made?? CHINA! (I THINK) =) .... BUT my point is it's okay for us to own the product which benefits the country we buy from but it's not okay for us to build a facility there? It's the other countries who are technically outsourcing. China is outsourcing to (Prent) to make packaging... the shipping cost is crazy so Prent sees a profit in having China as a client so they build a place in China and the place pays for itself I'm sure vs. the shipping costs. 5000 pieces of whatever at $300 each would be $1500000 just in shipping costs.... the buildings closer to the source makes total sense to me. And in turn- makes sense why Goex is in business too- they make the plastic that prent thermoforms. So Joe doesn't outsource his company at all....it's genius if you ask me... he outsources the needed product to the other countries. Let's face facts; China will probably always be the #1 electronic manufactoring company so why not profit off of their products as well. And whoevere said Prent doesn't offer profit sharing you are full of it! They do and it's a fact because my husband too works there and I'm proud everyday that he does! Joe runs a great company and he lets it be known if you don't want to work then you won't be working for him.
On Crews struggle to find site of rollover crash

I felt like I was reading my own story for a second. I was involved in a rollover about 6 or so years ago-outside of Edgerton area and the 911 folks couldn't find me either! I was hanging from my seatbelt upside down for over 1 hour before I was finally found. Nothing is more scary then being in that situation and not having the resources available to find you. At the time I purposely bought a phone equiped with GPS so when the 911 lady was telling me they couldn't find me I didn't understand! Then she went on to tell me that Rock CO wasn't set up with GPS tracking yet. I'm glad they are now. I hope this person had a better experience w/ the 911 center than I had. They yelled at me on the phone to stop crying and they also let me go... so there I was in my vehicle hanging upside down ALONE! I later sent a letter to the director of the 911 center to address the matter in which he did tell me was done. Still to this day I shiver at the thought of having to call 911 again because it was an awful experience for me. It made me sad when I read the caller had to hang up and recall 911. Why couldn't they transfer the people!!

I love how everyone is so quick to judge and doesn't give a damn about anyones situation. Looks like most are judge, juror and executioner. I have no clue who this guy is but I will say good for him for not being ashamed and coming forward to "relate" I guess in a way to a lot of the struggling folks around these areas. We are only told what he and the writer want us to know. Who's to say he doesn't have $50,000 in medical debt from a battle with cancer or a car accident or maybe huge loans from helping elderly parents get medical care or nursing home help. I'm not making excuses for him but seriously to sit and judge some one and threaten to move if he gets re-elected...it's so sad that your life is so awful that you are so concerned w/ your city council's personal business that you would pack up and move.... Do you think anyone will care if you ...1 person moves..if he gets re-elected? Come on! This just reminds me of how much americans really lack in compassion for one another. There are so many other things in life to worry about or to focus on then another person's financial matters! I hope this gentleman finds comfort in knowing there's at least 1 person in janesville who will not judge him! This also just reminded me why I stopped coming to the gazette website. Too many people who are just so much better then everyone else!!

On Public-access channels slam Charter’s plans

Just out of curiosity... Have you ever visited one of Charter's local offices? I have many times and I've been greeted with the most upbeat, sincere and knowledgeable staff. I agree over the phone is next to impossible but to judge the WHOLE CUSTOMER SERVICE of a company is insane! Yes I'm speaking from personal experience as I know someone who puts up with the verbal abuse of 90% of Charter's customers! I understand everyone's frustration and I too as a consumer am equally frustrated... but do you REALLY think the people behind the front desk the front line bottom of the totem pole CSR's are the one's to take your frustrations out on? Have you ever heard the way people talk to those girls! I wouldn't even allow my child to stand in line and wait with me because of the way other customers talk to those representatives. And to think they are ADULTS!!! F-Bombs being thrown around left and right and over what?!? Your package ended??? That you were told was going to end 6 months from the date you signed up and YOU FORGOT!!! but some how or another we fault the CSR for our own negligence in remembering that we were told things would change in 6 months. It's just easier to go in the office and call them names and threaten to harm them. Yes I said it... Because that's the exact statement I heard that day in line. If any of you are the fools that walk into any company and demand customer service by threatening or treating people like garbage then shame on you!!!
As for the digital transmission...you have a fabulous point!! I too wish Charter would wait on the channel changes and make them the same time the transmission occurs in Feb. 2009. It would make the transition a lot easier for all involved. On that note: Charter has NOTHING to do with the digital transmission that the GOVERNMENT is mandating!!! Do people understand the reasoning behind it? If not I would suggest you educate yourselves before passing judgment. I tend to think outside the box and it gets me further in life. I've also had to laugh at the criticism regarding the peg channel moves because if I recall the public had an out poring of wanting more competition and by doing so the franchising fees were abolished which pretty much meant Charter could do what it wants now because all of us choose for them to stop being a monopoly and to allow competition...not Realizing along with that the Cities and municipalities can no longer tell them how to run their business

FYI~ www.people.com there is a picture of the two of them at the Olive Garden. The caption reads "Jessica meets Tony's parents @ the Olive Garden in Janesville WI" I know everyone thinks it's dumb but step outside the box for a second. It's very cool that they were able to sit down and enjoy themselves for a dinner out just the same as you or I would. I'm sure there wasn't a ton of photogs around taking pics like there is in Beverly Hills. So who knows.....maybe we'll get a few more celebs come visit our community and help stimulate our economy some how?!? That sounded good right LOL .... I too am very nosey and would love to know how much of a tip was left that night. Any Olive Garden workers out there blogging??? Or did you all sign a confidentiality agreement?
