Wow, Kayla! That's so awesome! It really inspired me to look around my apartment for things I'm not using.
We all know it's important to donate food and practical clothes when we can.
But teens should have the chance to dress up and have a fun night of memories if they want. Heck, I still like to do that once in a while, too.

Here's the recipe I found on about.com.
Ann Marie
1/2 onion, diced
1 can black beans
1/2 cup flour
2 slices bread, crumbled
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp seasoned salt
salt and pepper to taste
oil for frying
Preparation:
Sautee the onions till soft, about 3-5 minutes.
In a large bowl, mash the beans until almost smooth. Add sauteed onions and the rest of the ingredients, except the oil, adding the flour a few tablespoons at a time to combine well. Mixture will be thick.
Form bean mixture into patties, approximately ½ inch thick and fry patties in a small amount of oil until slightly firm. Make veggie burgers and enjoy!

Actually, the books are pretty cool, although some of the titles are funny. "Livestock Guardians: Using Dogs, Donkeys and Llamas to protect your herd."
However, the photos are fantastic in the breed guide I blogged about.
I promise to spread the books in schools and libraries in Janesville and accross my beat! I appreciate the suggestions.
But I will never make a special trip to deliver the books, so it will be fuel-efficient donation.

Here is a quote from Rock County Administrator Craig Knutson's notes in the 2008 recomended budget:
"An item included in the 2008 budget request is $11,000 to do an update of the Parks, Outdoor Recreation and Open Space Plan. (POROS)
This plan must be updated every five years to remain eligible for state grants. The planning department wrote the current plan.
However, given the deadlines which they must meet to complete the comprehensive plan, they may not have the staff time needed to update the POROS plan.
Therefore, $11,000 is included to retain a private firm to assist with this effort."
