Thanks to everyone who came out and thanks to those who helped organize this event. Read Frank Schultz's story in today's Gazette to learn about what you missed. John, I believe you would've fit in perfectly with your mix of rational thought and comedy.
Thank you to all the speakers who were respectful and civil in their remarks. The full room that heard you was impressed and pleased with your ability and desire to work together. It was great to see a group of leaders who were stating what they were about in a civil manner.

On 'Big Give' aimed at easing poverty issues

Thanks to everyone who gave! One of the things I learned standing and speaking with volunteers is that the food people bring to such drives is usually much fresher than what gets dropped off at ECHO and Salvation Army. Parking lot where I was wasn't full but our bins were close to overflowing. Thanks again and kudos to Council President Kathy Voskuil for coming up with this great idea!
