Neighboring community Albany was in an article a few weeks ago, discussing referendum options - why don't the two consolidate? Many small schools in the area are discussing this option.....

On Albany schools to turn to referendum

Unfortunately, Albany school district is in this financial situation due to Mr. Guenther's lack of financial expertise and handling of a budget. I question his focus on education....

It would be interesting to see how the prior referendum dollars have been spent. Tax payer money has been used to remodel an old portion of the school to be used as a community center - which has nothing to do with enhancing student's education (shame on the board for approving). The community of Albany has a beautiful, new Library and wonderful Lions building that could be used for functions. This does not seem like an effective use of funds. Maybe, if the remodel hadn't been completed, there would be enough money to fix the roof.

Interesting comment on reduced administrative costs - The funds are probably now directed to heating the refurbished community center. I think Mr. Guenther has wasted more time and tax payer money than he can show he's focused on improving the education for Albany students.

Albany schools have an excellent, dedicatd teaching staff, the downfall is the current administration...... It would be nice to see the direct educators compensated for their skills, rather than an increase in administrative salaries when there's a budget deficit.
