Just read the editorial in today's paper. The real cop-out here is Ardrey's refusal to vote on recommendation. Waiting to make a recommendation known when the full school board takes up the issue only reinforces that.

RichE, If only our public education system had the luxury of filtering who could and couldn't attend public school like private schools, education would be a much different environment. Nearly every time I hear that "but the private schools can do it, better and for LESS!" makes me want to throw up in my mouth a little. Do private schools have to take special needs kids? Do they have to keep troublemakers as students? Do you suppose the student demographic may be slightly different? Do you suppose overall parental involvement may be a little different? Do you think any of the above may be huge contributors to overall achievement? Sorry to point this directly at you, but that argument is quite inane. The better question to ask Sodemann is what on earth would the school board do if health care was not self funded and they lost their Fund-10 "checking" account.

Hey BS! Why don't you also explain to everyone the rationale behind the recent purchase of IPads for administrators in the district, and maybe also explain the school district's rationale behind paying for administrators doctorates?

Please remember that just because your school may not be closed does not mean you will not be affected. Those students being moved will displace some from the school moved to, and so on...
