On Alaska governor moves to national stage

Posted on September 2 at 10:08 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

And now it comes out that she was a member of the Alaska Independence Party (its founder remarked "I'm and Alaskan, not an American") and gave a web speech supporting the AIP just this year. They want secession for Alaska from the United States and have discussed 'infiltrating' both parties to get their goals. More proof she had absolutely no vetting. Oh well I guess if Alaska does try to seceed we could alway let them I mean Alaska is a Welfare Queen among states as far as taking federal money and not sending as much back to the federal government.

This is NOT a first amendment issue. If you don't like the content you are free to start a 'janesville gazette stinks' website or shout it out from rooftops at the top of your lungs or start a group to boycott the paper (even better just read another d*mn paper!!). Remember you are on a PRIVATE board so treat it as PRIVATE property, if they don't want it there it is well within their right to delete your comment or all comments (see: User Policy Agreement). Also for those who are whining about it those comments weren't just some random opinion they were arrogant, rude, and hurtful and most importantly embarrassing for me that people in the county I grew up in could be so vicious and hateful to others that live here.

'In fact, if there happen to be any single rich 35-year-old women with a net worth of $25-$38 million looking for a husband, I'd not only not count their houses, I'd even consider running for City Council if they want to marry a politician.'

What if you were married to a woman who was badly injured in a car accident? Would you cheat on her with a hot young rich woman like McCain did?

George Obama (Barack's half brother in Kenya) doesn't want any money from Barack he wants to earn it himself and is very proud of Barack.

Or not considering the ReTHUGs (since we 12 year olds) have blocked any oppertunity for more energy efficiency in automobiles and appliances and the DoE cutting it weatherization program for low income folks. Oh and lets not forget that John McCain has been trying to kill Amtrak for years. Oh and who could forget that they recently blocked tax credits for alternative energy. Those republicans politicians, classy folks I tell ya.

Northman,
I agree that there will be no one solution (no silver bullet only silver bb's) but the trouble is that I've seen countless times on tv and in the Republican Camp (McCain, Gingrich, Bodman, etc) and the media in the past few months is "DRILL, DRILL, DRILL" heck look at what Gingrich has been promoting "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less". The big thing is that they are acting as if it is the panacea to our energy woes and that is an out and out lie. A few links
Guy Caruso, Bush appointee to the EIA says Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Drilling won’t affect prices much: http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=n...
Here is the 2007 estimate for the OCS:
http://www.eia.doe.gov/oiaf/aeo/otherana...
Same w/ANWR which will reduce oil prices by either $.75 to $1.44 per barrel in 2025 or 7:
http://www.eia.doe.gov/oiaf/servicerpt/a...
Again I agree we need more silver bb's like alternative energy and I'm sure even drilling for more oil but we also need to look at conservation too. Sigh, bust out the cardigans and plaid pants it's the 70s all over again!!! :-(
