some of us live in Rock County where Waste Mngt is contracted, and this strike my spill over to us... SO SOMEONE DOES CARE.. again news that affects us can come from out of ROCK COUNTY

2Xloser- Better check on your statement (hope you are correct, but don't really see it) After being in the profession for over 13 yrs, and seeing other communities with the "Private Abu Services" Where do you think or how do you think they get their billing taken care of, They have to set up contracts with the city and outlying townships (and those contracts cost money) so the contracts are paid from ....uhmm Taxes...those poeple who work with them also get paid from funds that the townships and city pay the service... the average cost of an Ambulance (with no equipment on board) runs about 130- 225 thousand (cost might be a little on the high side,, but not by much) then add equipment(ie. Communication. medical supplies depending on what level of service you plan on providing, and the hardware-> stretchers back boards, Stair chairs and back support (for extrication).. you can add atleast 25-50 thousand dollars more....all from either private donations or "City/Department budgets" (yes taxpayers moneies)...like I said before .. I hope you are right but after being on a buget commitee for a private service and city run deprtment, the cost from the taxpayers are still there whether or not you have a private of city run deprtment...

I guess that people think that all the news from the Gazette has to be stopped at the County lines.. who cares about the the info reported in Walworth , Dane, and Green Counties, (lets not forget Areas around South Beloit) as for the Idiot comment, well......

Mainstreet->->Depression, Problems at work, home or with family, just wanted to fit in (peer pressure) the list goes on and on... I have (recently) noticed some squirrels that have been lying on the ground (underneath "Power Lines") an not moving, Just wondering if that was "Suicide" or not..they have been looking kinda of "mopey" lately... I was denied my Federal Med card in 1990 I was able to obtain a CDL to drive a delivery truck for a beer company, then I tried to get my FED MED card and was denied If I have Diabetes or the next guy having a Heart condition and he was able to get his med card?? what is the difference????? To me before you have a chance to get your CDL, you must have a FULL medical physical, and if you have any debilitating condition (Heart, Diabetes, Lung, or Epilepsy, others too many to mention) you med card will not be honored... they have this policy backwards.. Card first, then CDL...

With the news of closing (possibly) early... it is not surprising to anyone..I lived through the strike years and made it through, sure we were living lean, but we made it... (heck I had some of the best peanut butter and cheese during these times) Janesville will survive, and you can almost bet that the plant will not go/stay empty for long..
