I like how they are more concerned with the reputation of the city over public safety, being the city's reputation is why they increased public safety...lol. Not for the actual people that live here and pay taxes.

oldvet - The root cause is the welfare and govt handouts. Poverty before used to be harsh and painful. Today poverty is a luxury fully funded by us tax payers.

On La Crosse police respond to balloon pops at college

This is how society is failing. People need to use common sense and judgement, not just call 911 on a hunch. If everyone called 911 on a hunch...wow. Here I am in my lower level and the dogs bark at a noise outside. Should I call 911 and tell them someones breaking in? No. Noises happen all over deal with it like normal people.

The person that called the police on these balloons should be arrested.

On Illinois company to lead Janesville city manager search

Todays headline is perfectly fitting. Loony toons cartoon from 1961 - "The Abominable Snow Rabbit" repeated.."Which way did he go". Only the council says "we" instead of "he".
I will name him George, and I will hug him and pet him and squeeze him.

Why dont we just take this all the way and outsource it to China? This really makes our city council shine, maybe we should just donate some crayons to them so they can color all day and have some compitent people do what they should be doing?

On Budget panel votes to prohibit sugary drinks bans

What does Democrat or Republican have to do with ones idiotic logic? Its practiced on both sides equally. I know what the article is about, im laughing about the fact someone would try and ban big drinks to begin with. Instead of educating people we try to influence the market....HA! WOW! We wonder why America is so dumbified? We leave the idiots being idiots and dont do ANYTHING to help them (but we'll send billions overseas to help others) and then we childproof everything in hopes to cure our problems. Man i feel stupid reading about this.

This is almost comical. What are we going to try and ban next? Spoons? They make people fat too.

Another plan with this logic I have.... To stop drunks and cure alcoholics, Lets only sell 6 ounce cans of beer instead of 12 ounce ones. Then people will drink less right? 50% less to be exact. The math looks perfect on paper so it has to work.

I always wondered what a GPA of 4.0 means when they teach what they do? I mean how can knowing the ranking military members of the civil war, reciting Hamlet, Shakespear, knowing the words to "the battle of new orleans", having the atomic chart memorized, knowing all the state capitals, knowing what the state bird of Kansas is and stuff like that even remotely help you get anywhere? yet there are hundreds of hours focussed on stuff like this through out ones school career.
