On Quirk of Wis. recall could lead to unusual outcome

Posted on May 29 at 12:34 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Born and raised in WI but I'm starting to hate it here. I am a union worker, I work past my set hours (on my time) in order to get things done to provide the public the service they pay for. Why? Because I'm a caring person, I don't take my job or benefits for granted. Walker is a puppet for corporations that are looking to make money by not paying livable wages. Not all unions are a bad thing. I would rather a union run me than the government.

On Feds ordered Wis. gov to lift program cap

He had been planning to lift the cap for months; typical spokesman response. Why didn't he do it months ago? He was too busy making a mess out of WI. Never been so disgusted with politics/government; sure hope there are better candidates for the recall vote.

On Janesville city manager budgets $50,000 for skatepark

Posted on October 7 at 10:43 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

If the city has funded the Sports Complex and the Ice Arena they can help fund the Skate Park. Don’t tell me there isn’t a need for it, if there wasn’t then why do we have signs posted around town that say ‘No Skateboarding’? At least the skate park people want to have something that looks nice in this town; and if you think it shouldn’t exist because there is going to be garbage lying around then there are a lot of businesses that shouldn’t exist in this town. The people AND businesses of this community have no pride in how it looks. Go to the old Walmart, park so you are facing Target near Any Time Fitness and Dollar Tree and look at the parking lot it’s disgusting. Open your eyes and look around at all the garbage in the streets, curbs and terraces. We need a community that cares if we want it to grow, go out and clean someplace; you don’t need to get paid for everything you do. Have some of the people that are able that receive food from the food pantries or are provided shelter help clean up this pig sty or we are never going to get potential businesses and people to locate here.

On Auto recovery would bode well for Janesville facility

'If' the plant re-opens, why would they be allowed to have a union contract in WI? I think the union is part to blame for the closing. Workers/unions got greedy, couldn't be happy with a steady pay check and ruined things for the rest of us.

On Wisconsin ban on margarine targeted for repeal

This is utterly ridiculous! Our wonderful politicians should be more concerned about what people buy with food stamps/cards. Recently I saw someone buy 6 cases of soda with a food card; this shouldn't be allowed. I know people that have food cards and they aren't allowed to buy toilet paper with a card, that is needed more than soda is. I know people that are on 'assistance' but yet they have money to buy cigarettes; this shouldn't be allowed. Why is it the people getting food/supplies from the ECHO food pantry drive really nice vehicles? Have you ever sat down there and watched them load their vehicles? If you believe they are being brought there by friends think again. This country has created it's own mess and it is time people to really look into who receives benefits.

On Walker orders flags at half-staff on 9/11

Posted on September 9 at 9:30 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

Take a look around on Sunday, there will be some flags that are not at half staff. I wish EVERYONE that flies a flag would learn the etiquette and sign up to get the half staff 'orders'. The flag is so important to vets, please respect it more.
