Nature - 1, Lake District - zero.

It's a river, folks - and while we might think we control it, we don't.

Yay - because you can never give enough money to the Apple computer company!

Properly funded, they might one day they might even figure out a way to bring Steve Jobs back from the undead (or clone him).

And, as Bill Hicks so aptly pointed out, "You think when Jesus comes back he ever wants to see a ...cross? It's like going up to Jackie Onassis wearing a rifle pendant.”

On Report: Bill would set an 8-year path to residency

Posted on February 18 at 11:38 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Why enact more immigration laws when we haven't enforced the ones on the books for the last 20 years? Another joke - this one even bigger than the gun law rhetoric, but less than the recurring Fiscal Cliff debacle.

On A fresh start for Rock County Humane Society

Posted on February 18 at 12:20 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

FIRST...the board of the Rock County Humane Society should TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for allowing the organization to spiral into it's present incarnation instead of trying to feign surprise! If they DIDN'T KNOW what was going on...OR...if they DID AND CONDONED IT until it imploded, they should RESIGN their board membership!

Boards should take RESPONSIBILITY for the organizations they oversee and the employees they put in place - period. Lead, follow, or get out of the way, folks...it's not the country club and if you're part of the irresponsible management then you're part of the problem for all the animals that are potentially touched by your facility!

On JPAC to allow beverages in theater

Posted on February 17 at 10:35 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Wow - the Gazette gets out all the great news stories first! With this level of reporting, I'll bet their in line for a "Pullet Surprise"!

And what's the problem with (or news in) allowing people who are out for the night to have water, a soda, or a beer or wine during the show? Should have happened years ago.

If you can't handle your alcohol (or can't handle others drinking), don't drink it (or don't look) - but allow those adults among us who can drink alcohol responsibly to enjoy it as they see fit.

Puritans, drunks, and fools...the bane of the the responsible adult pursuing life, liberty and happiness in a "free" country! What a silly, small-minded, backwater burg this city remains, with little hope to appear otherwise to anyone from outside it with half a brain.

On Are your sidewalks icy?

Yes - let's encourage everyone to spend a lot of money and dump sand and cement- and environment-damaging salt all over the walks because we must must conquer Nature for all those individuals too incompetent to wear functional shoes and use caution when walking around during the middle of a frozen Wisconsin winter!
