"'There's a story behind every high-risk violation,' Banwell said."
A "story," huh? But not one you'll find in any Gazette article on the subject, or even on-line at the health department site! Sadly, neither the Gazette story nor the health department website link provide much usable information on which consumers might base their patronage decisions.
Looks like the only way a consumer might get real information is to request individual inspection reports for a particular restaurant - and then who knows what might be documented.
In this day and age, that's a decidedly poor system for something deemed as important as food safety. A lot of smoke and mirrors that still seems designed to protect restaurants and business more than the public!

I'm sure that once the cranes landed and were forced to stay on ground in an hospitable area for some time due to the FAA's intervention over sport pilot compensation issues, they had no intention of flying any further.
Thanks for screwing the crane restoration effort up good, FAA! Guess the FAA doesn't know the difference between "doing things right" and "doing the RIGHT THING" - or doesn't care. No surprise there though, is there? At least the cranes don't have to go back through airport security!

Gee, I bet if they weren't a potential source of advertising income this article might actually include some open records FACTS about local restaurants so that consumers could make informed choices about their health and food.
Wishful thinking, I know! The Gazette has danced around this issue for years - they have no problem publishing the speeding ticket my neighbor just got but print absolutely nothing of consequence about something as important as restaurant health department inspection results!

I knew it! These ubiquitous super-sized kids are, once again, all the fault - and the responsibility - of our evil educational-industrial school system complex! Those dastardly teachers have failed (to shoulder the blame that parents deserve) once again!
Yeah, this will certainly be the solution to counteract the rampant morbid obesity problems we see in so many of these little entertainment/game/internet-addicted Weeble-Wobbling, snow-"person"-bottomed kids (and thier pets, too) we see everywhere today! The schools will fix it (you know, like everything else they have thus far conquered...gangs, drugs, self-esteem, motivation, hard science, work ethic, sexual responsibility, bullying, racism, morals, ethics, left-behinds, etc.) and the parents can finally COMPLETELY take an (un)deserved break and ignore their little minions that much more (how much is left?).
"No child (will be) left behind" (and what a great slogan - and success - that program has been, eh?), however big they may have already become! But...what about all this fight-hunger/school breakfast/lunch/dinner programs that have been pushed for so long (some kids are now eating breakfast at home AND at school - would have never guessed that, right!)? Wait...we can blame the schools for that too! If we blame enough agencies, maybe someone(else..like the Chinese or some help center employee in Bangladesh) will finally be able to fix the problem!
PS Give kids something physical and PRODUCTIVE to do...it ain't all play, people, and humans have evolved for eons without having to entertain fat kids for decades. After all, how do you think we overcame the dinosaurs, New Earthers?!

Good for them - make a big stand on the orange triangles if that's what's important to you (frankly, they should have lights and turn signals if they want to operate on public roads)!
Let 'em take their chances with getting run into - but don't expect your day in court after someone who can't see your little black buggy give you the big bump.
I just feel sad for the Amish horses - for more reasons than just this one!

“I think we can all look forward to the time when these three theories are given equal time in our science classrooms across the country, and eventually the world; One third time for Intelligent Design, one third time for Flying Spaghetti Monsterism, and one third time for logical conjecture based on overwhelming observable evidence.” - Bobby Henderson (pasta be upon him)
