On Janesville doctor writes about faith

Dr. Ragotzy is a very good and caring doctor. He is a great example of how faith and examining thoroughly, the lessons of the Bible can heal. I applaud his courage in writing his book and publishing his struggle. Most would not. Yes, he is courageous and I hope that his journey will help others. I will definitely purchase his book.

I would like to say that Deb Dongarra-Adams has done a great job for the people of Janesville and she has been fiscally responsible in this economic downturn. She gets a great big "Thank You" from me and I am so sorry that she won't be running again.
I agree with doc0430. It's time that the Council considers options other than taxes and fees. I think the wheel tax was the last straw.
On Hospitalists are doctors who manage inpatient care

Where in this article does it say hospitalists are good for the patient? I find it difficult to believe that 3 to 4 hospitalists on a shift can deliver quality care to every patient in an entire hospital. I've experienced hospitalists and I can't say I like them. My experiences were not in Janesville. It's not a personal dislike. It's knowing that 10 minutes after he/she leaves the room I am just a unit on a production line; patient #00355 Gall Bladder Room #1234. It is a totally clinical experience. They don't know me and I don't know them. They release me and make follow up appointments with my primary. My primary asks me another litany of questions. If he/she took care of me in the first place, he/she wouldn't have to ask and I wouldn't have to repeat and repeat, etc. There is a real disconnect with this type of care; it is a business deal and not a doctor-patient relationship, you probably will never see this hospitalist again. You had no say in the matter, they were assigned to you BY THEIR EMPLOYER. You are no longer the employer and have no idea if they are good doctors or not. Bring your notebook and write everything down so you or your survivors have the notes needed for your lawyer. Business squabbles are best settled by lawyers.

I don't know this chain so I can't say I am for or against it. Food places are always good but I doubt very much a food chain will bring tourists as some might think. I will try this chain and hope they have healthy options which we are in dire need of in this town. As for Menards, it's size and parking area could be well used as an outlet store type business development. They always bring people in wherever they are located throughout the country as long as they are real outlets. Many even take day long bus trips to areas where there are good outlet malls. We have many large empty buildings here and it is time to think beyond manufacturing which is having a slow go of it these days. Janesville needs something more quickly than manufacturing which takes forever to wade through all the red tape of the Environmental Protection Agency and other Federal Agencies. I take road trips several times a year to outlet malls. It sure would be nice to shop locally and not have to drive out of state.

It is shocking to see these little lives snuffed out in a senseless act of violence. It is an event our nation will not forget soon. My faith tells me that murder is an offense against God. My nation says that the murderer must stand trial in a court of law because murder is against the law. Why then, is abortion OK? Why is it OK for the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) within Obamacare to refuse life saving treatment for the elderly?
Why is it OK for our government to send so many people overseas to fight wars? Why does our government not protect our embassies resulting in the murders of 4 people very recently in Benghazi? Now, the government says we have no money to put armed guards in schools. The issue is murder of any sort, not a gun ban.

I don't know how much we export in corn products, but with the ban on GMO corn in European countries and the backlash in this country, maybe we won't need very much corn with the exception of fuel. The reluctance of passing legislation in this country to label products such as GMO or Non GMO corn, etc. has resulted in many people avoiding products with corn, corn syrup, etc. Hybridizing is one thing but actually Genetically Modifying (changing the genetic structure) of food stuff products is quite another and is questionable in so far as delivering real nutrition. Questionable, also, is whether these genetically modified products could produce possible genetic changes within the human body or the animal it is fed to, as well as, provoke allergic reactions in humans and acceleration of diseases such as cancer. Why is Monsanto so against labeling and why is our government not requiring it when other countries are requiring labeling? Why are the Europeans banning it altogether?

On Preserving farmland, preserving the economy

1. Where is the community input?
2. Who did the study if there is a study?
3. Why are we creating a development free zone when birth rates are falling and new housing starts are at an all-time low?
4. Is the projected dearth of farmland really due to development and urban sprawl? Where are the stats?
5. Can we see stats regarding the total acreage of acquisition of lands for rewilding, reforresting, wetlands, parks, nature trails, bicycle trails as opposed to urban sprawl since 2007?
6. Where can we find the all important minutes of the meetings and resulting documents which hatched this plan?
7. I assume that this plan will kick off a multitude of ordinances for farmers including whether a farmer can use his farm for dairy or garden vegetables, corn for the expensive ethanol or soybean production, how many allowed out buildings per acre, how many trees this farm should or should not have.
8. How will this new designation of dedicated farmlands affect the value of the property?
9. In the event of the death of a farmer, can the farm then be subdivided and parcels left to his heirs? Can they, then build their homes on the farm?
I have too many questions. Maybe it would be better to address these questions at an open hearing at a Rock County meeting to present the plan to the public?

On Court: Obama appointments are unconstitutional

No former president ever made a recess appointment during a pro forma session of the Senate. The Obama administration is the first. The "pro forma" session was cooked up by none other than Harry Reid and Obama violated it. The "pro forma" session was initiated to prevent recess appointments because during a pro forma session the Senate is technically not in recess.
